Selling my 1970 Chevrolet El Camino with no reserve! Moving from Southern California to Northern California and wont have the garage space in the new place, so have to sell. Bought it intending to do a full restoration, but it has served as an extremely fun weekend car and has never let me down.
Car runs perfectly and the transmission shifts extremely smoothly. The Clutch feels like its new. The car was originally built in Van Nuys CA, was originally sold Courtest Chevrolet Thousand Oaks and has not been owned by anyone outside the Los Angeles area since then. I bought it from a neighbor.
Its an original 350 V8 properly equipped with the Muncie 4 speed HD transmission. It absolutely hauls and is a blast to drive around town. It is comfortable doing 70-80 on the freeway with no problems. I don't think the 1970 SS came with the 350, so I dont think the car is a true SS.
Car has new paint in its original color "Fathom Blue". It definitely turns heads and starts conversations anywhere. Car was originally equipped with an all blue interior as well, but the seats and door panels were customized to be blue leather with white fabric inlays.
Car isn't fully restored and still has some issues including some cracks in the grill and missing bits of trim. All easily fixable from a parts catalog, but I have run out of time on it. The dash and rear shelf have sun damage, but are the original blue from the factory. All the gauges work including the clock. Headlight low high beam switch on the floor works as well as the wipers. The cowl induction hood is functional but is not hooked up.
I encourage anyone who is in the Southern California area to come by and take a look at it you wont be disappointed. Also will coordinate with other inspection services if youre out of state. Nothing to hide on this beauty.
