This is a factory (Not A Clone) very rare Z15 Super Sport Chevelle Big Block originally a 454 LS5 Super Sport car from Texas as verified by the very rare (W) in the VIN number.

The W in the VIN is verifying a REAL 454 LS5 factory built car. I do not have the build sheet but I have not removed the original gas tank as of now. It does retain the original firewall metal Trim Tag showing the color and options.

This car is originally a (code 26) Musanne Blue/White strip, Code A51 Black Strato-Bucket Bucket seat with console 4 Speed. In addition this is a factory TACH/gauge package, A/C, Flapper door Cowl Induction hood, Factory power front disk brakes, Factory F41 suspension with boxed rear control arms, rear sway bar, and all in a Real Super Sport 454 LS5 Chevelle.

This car is a very rare find. It is also in the LS5 registry.

My research using the Data and Guide books is than fewer than 1,000 of these 1972 Chevelle (W) LS5 454 4 speed cars were ever produced by GM. One in stunning code 26 Mulsanne blue white stripe with black interior 4 speed W A/C has to be a find.

Current condition:

I purchased this vehicle last year from a long time avid Chevelle collector. It was from Texas so not a rust bucket. Currently this is painted code 75 factory red/black strips. It appears to have one repaint back in the 1980s from blue to the red.

Currently has minimal surface rust ¼ lips and some other areas. Nothing bad.

This factory 454 SS Chevelle has a strong running period correct 454 BBC engine. The period correct M21 Muncie transmission clutch and GM 12 BOLT differential are in good operation condition. The vehicle stops and steers fine. For any distance this vehicle should be transported. I have only driven it locally but it did not run hot. It does have the factory correct SS GM wheels and new BFG tires.

The engine recently had a top end overhaul including a GM spec replacement cam/Lifters. It also retains it factory cast iron GM intake as well as 1970s period correct Rochester 4BBL. It is 454 block casting 3999289(Big Block V8 454). It does have headers and dual exhaust.

The vehicle has no signs of every being in an accident. The trunk, floors, hood, fenders, rear inner wheel housings, glass, SS frame are in very solid condition. The car appears to never have any major sheet metal replaced.

This car does start right up, idle fine when warm, shift clean through all gears, gas gauge works, run and drive but is a clearly a driver level car at best needs a full cosmetic and some mechanical restoration. Primarily it needs the need the interior door panels, headliner, and dash pad replaced. I do have and is included in sale is a full new set of uninstalled PUI factory black front and back GM factory replacement seat covers.

The A/C compressor and lines are missing but everything else appears to be in the dash ect.

It comes with a correct factory A/M radio and originals GM seat belts. The seat and carpets were unbolted and carpet removed to inpect and shows the solid original condition of the floors.

The original complete black bucket seats seats will be reinstalled/bolted upon sale.

It does need a fair amount of work to restore to concourse level but has real good original bones, high Value in the Hagarty value guide, runs, drives, and stops.

It has the original clear Pennsylvania Title in my name with actual miles.
