Chevrolet Chevelle 1972 Description

Hello, up for auction today is a friend of the family 1972 chevelle maibu convertible. it has 48,000 originalmiles on it. it has its originaluntouched 350, 2 barrel engine and turbo 350 auto transmission. car has power steerin, power disc brakes, a 10 bolt rearend and a power top. from what i m told our friend is the second owner of this car and it was boughten in Losangels Californiaaround the late 70s while he lived out there and drivenback to rochester ny in the early 80s where he been living since. i m tol, upon him starting a family and struggling to keep a roof over his families head and working 2 jobs his beloved first car the chevelle was covered and parked in his back yard for many years and as things got a little better he had it put in a barn for storage. but sadly the barn had a leaky roof so the chevelle sat in dampness for many more years. being tired everyday from working 2 jobs and providing for his family he never checked on the car and hoped for the best ! he recently rolled it out of the barn and found it it this condition.sadly not having the means to restore it he asked my brother to please find his beloved chevelle a new owner that can restore it.so here it goes, floor boards need replacing front to rear, complete trunk pan needs replacing. frame needs work or replacing. rear frame rails behind rear wheels and near the steering box are rusted out .rear rails and front frame pieces can be used from a 4 door 2 door and wagon. or the best part is you can find a junker elcamino in the southern or western states and use the frame from one of them. the frames on elcaminos are the same heavy duty frame used on convertibles.you only have to have a welder due a very slight modification on the rear frame rails. i been there and done this before. i ve also had rusty frames on corvettes worse than this chevelle restored by some good welders for reasonable cost. so either way its your choice. the chevelle also needs some body panels. the best part that everything needed to restore this car is in reproduction.the engine is stuck and does not turn over by hand at this time. the good things are that i pulled off the bottom radiator hose and it was full of green antifreeze and the engine oil is on the full mark on the dip stick.the air cleaner and exhaustwere also on since driven into storage. i took the air cleaner off and the carb works free and the choke butterfly is close, what i have done in the past to several cars with stuck engines is to dump a half a gallon of marvel mystery oil down the carb the let the oil soak i, which i did last week. so i m am confident that the engine will turn over and run just fine like all the others i ve done. all you need to do is pull all spark plugs get under car and pull tranny dust cover and use a tire iron between the starter and flywheel and turn the engine. this car would be a nice restoration project for the person that wants a chevelle convertiblebut can t afford the sky high prices for one, and to take his time to restore it little by little and one day drive his dream around. or this car would make an excellentchange over car for the person that wants their chevelle or ss chevelle turned into a super high dollar more enjoyable convertible. thats the new fad and many shops are doing just this for many people. finding a decent unmolested complete donor car like this isn t easy.the car rolls and steers fine. so here it is,i have keys and clear ny title ownership to the car in hand. serious bidders only please ! look at the pictures and ask questions if needed. there is no reserve on this auction. high bidder buys the car.deposit of 500.00 threw pay pal threw friends and family only " its not my car" or us postal money orders only or bank wire transfer with in 48hrs of auctions closing. balance due within 7 days of auction closing by cash in hand,us postal money order only, pay pal threw friends and family only " its not my car" bank wire transfer, or will take your personal check as long as your bank is in Rochesterny only and car will not move till funds are cleared. 0 feed back bidders will have to contact me before bidding other wise your bid will be canceled. we will keep your car stored safely for 30 days as long as its paid for for in the time stated. we can load your car on to your transport free if needed. my brother can and at no charge arrange for transport of this car for you to anywhere in the us to save you broker fees.over seas or out of country bidders are welcome to bid, we will work with you as far as storage times. by must be paid for in times stated, and we know a reasonably priced transport guy that can get this car to one of the eastern ports for you. happy bidding and thank you for looking.Upon full payment for car the ownership title will be mailed right out prority mail with tracking to the new owner thankx
