78' Chevy Luv Mikado Style

Chevrolet Other Pickups 1978 Description

1978 LUV Mikado 1.8l 4-speed -- black with red interior/upholstery. This is a classic compact pick up, made between 1972 and 82, contract between Isuzu and Chevy-- so the engine's Isuzu.

It's been a real joy, taken me around the country 3 times- a reliable truck for its age, although definitely not an everyday driver. 93,000 miles-- was garaged most of its life before I got it 5 years ago. Brand new clutch, new starter, have had a new head gasket kit installed and have done other minor work on the front end (U-joints). I have records for most of the work. Other than that, it's all original parts, and the interior is clean.

The bad: there's currently a little ticking noise which I'm almost 100% is a bad input shaft bearing-- so perhaps some small transmission business to be done. Even with that, though, it drives really well. Also there is minimal rust on the frame and underside, I have detailing photos that I'm willing to share if you want (message me). Tail pipe in particular has rusted off, but the rest of the rust is only surface. It has been kept in Chicago for the past 3 years. Very little rust on the body-- almost completely clean.
