Chevrolet C-10 1971 Description

1971 Chevy C-10 Cheyenne Super SWB: This truck was the bomb for 1971, w/ only the Tachometer & Big Block options not included. The truck came from the factory w/ a 350ci, 4-bolt, 250HP SBC & a Turbo 350 trans. It also has factory Power Brakes w/ Frt Disc, Power Steering & Factory A/C that blows COLD. Mileage of 136,220 is believed to be correct (reads 36,220), & the original engine was stated as rebuilt at 98K miles. Previous sole-owner family completed restoration for aging father several years before I purchased truck in Feb, 2013. Very clean chassis that was cleaned & painted at time of restoration, & not covered w/ deceptive thick undercoating.

After a couple years of driving, the 350ci SBC began burning a lot of oil when driving, so a Chevy Performance 350ci, 4-bolt, 290HP, long-block crate motor was installed in Feb 2016, along w/ a new Edelbrock intake manifold, Hamburger Torque-flow carb spacer, & new Holley 650 Dbl-pumper. New Hedman Long-tube headers & a completely new 2.5” exhaust w/ Flowmaster mufflers. Polished aluminum Hi-performance water pump & fuel pump were also installed. Finned aluminum valve covers & air cleaner complete the ol’ school muscle car look. The A/C compressor was upgraded to a modern & more efficient aluminum model that creates less drag on the engine. Transmission was rebuilt in 2014 when leaks developed, & Drive Shaft Carrier bearings were also replaced, leaving this truck as solid a driver as it gets, yet still capable of winning awards at your local car show. New Crate Engine has about 700 miles on it. Complete original era-dated engine is available if interested.

Visually, well you can see that the Red paint is about 10 feet deep, & it really does show that well, yet there are a couple chips around truck bed stake holes & 1 on driver door. Rally Wheels & Firestone Tires give it that bit of muscle-car look that everyone seems to love. I have a spare wheel & trim ring, but never got around to painting wheel or mounting a tire. It includes a Berlin Covers Tonneau cover for the bed, but I haul my motorcycle collection, so it is not on the truck. It also has a CCRsport Bed-Buddy motorcycle chock/tie-down system installed in the LineX coated original SWB truck bed. The bed shows some dents that were there when LineX was installed by previous owner.

The interior is all stock Cheyenne, w/ Houndstooth bench seat & vinyl wood-trimmed dash. All gauges work as they should (Fuel gauge gets stuck on F initially when tank is filled), The only non-stock interior parts are a Grant wood-rimmed steering wheel, just like I had in HS in 1978 (original steering wheel cracked, but included), & the Kenwood stereo w/ Realistic Minimus-7 aluminum cabinet speakers under the seat (more ol’ school). I installed a generic center console for storage & cup-holders, mounted via Velcro & removable, along with Generic black rubber floormats (included but not pictured).
