Chevrolet C-10 1970 Description
Up for consideration is my 1970 Chevy C-10 long bed truck. I have had this truck for a few years and now it's time to let it go as I don't have the desire to get it fixed. It has had a oil leak that was never really addressed the right way from the front seal I do believe. With that being said I must have drove it with low oil one day and spun a rod bearing. However, I am not a mechanic so it could be a totally different problem causing the tapping noise. With this being said it's really the only major problem with the truck.Since I have had it it has had a new alternator and rewired due to it having some kind of charging issue. New brake master cylinder with new brakes and parts added to back and front.
However, since it started making the knocking noise it has just been sitting and that has been for over a year now. I did noticed the last time I started the truck it has a gas leak from the hose that comes from the carburetor going to the fuel pump.
This truck does have a lot of aftermarket things done to it from the previous owner. I know that it has Richmen gears in the redone rear end. It has been lowered with front and rear sway bars. There is also a aftermarket transmission filter that uses a oil filter behind the passenger front wheel. Along with this there is other odds and ends that was done to the truck over it's years.
With this being said, there is also the trucks original owners manual with metal plate. Little note books with what the first owner logged miles and days since day one up to 1987 I do believe. There are also notes about what parts that where replaced, oil changes, and other work done on the truck. I do also have a note book with what looks like to me almost everything that was changed, worked on, and or added to the truck over most of it's life.
I know I have left other information out that I am not thinking of so please ask me questions if they arise.
Please note, this truck will need to be towed!
