Chevrolet Caprice 1991 Description

1991 Chevy Caprice. Originally a Fire Chief car from New Hampshire. Retired in 1998 the previous owner peeled off the fire department stickers and had the black painted around the whole car to make it two tone for his mother. She drove it less than 10,000 miles from 1998 to last year. It has been garage kept, first in the fire hall, then by the second owner, since new! I added a set of Ridler 695 18 inch wheels. The fronts are 8.5 wide and the rears are 9.5 wide. The rear tires are brand new, the fronts are nice used tires with approximately 50 percent tread. Keep in mind this is a 26 year old car but it is near perfect. The interior is immaculate and the body is very nice. As you can see in the pictures the only rust is just two small spots near the rear wheels and some surface at the bottom inside of the doors. There is one very small dent in the tailgate about the size of a dime. Lastly regarding the body if you look at just the right angle at the passenger front door some remnant of the old fire chief sign is showing. This might be able to be wheeled or wet sanded out.
The car does need a few things. The A/C needs to be recharged. The ABS light is always on, not sure why. Also, the bottom cushion of the third row seat is missing. I assume the fire department removed it for gear. On that note, unlike many service cars, this one has had no hole drilled in it for equipment. It is 100 percent stock. The exhaust has a leak somewhere that gives it a slight rumble. I actually think it sounds pretty cool so I haven't touched it. Lastly, if you fill the car all the way full you will get some leakage from the sending unit at the top of the gas tank. It will stop leaking within a few miles of leaving the station. If you keep it just under full it does not leak. These are the things I know about the car that should be fixed to make it perfect.
I would not hesitate to get in the car and drive it across the country. It runs and drives like a new car. It is a perfect family cruiser and looks very sharp with it's wheels and custom paint. If you need the car shipped I would recommend Montway Auto Transport. If you would like to fly in and drive the car home, you can fly in to either Detroit or Flint Michigan and I can pick you up most evenings after 7 or weekends.
