Chevrolet C-10 1970 Description

Someone with vision built this 1970 Chevy C10 pickup, because the combination of the silver and white paint job, the gorgeous interior, and subtle wheels give it almost an OEM-looking level of cool. Perhaps you have a Z/28 that needs a tow vehicle or you're just looking for a cool old truck, you'll find that this one still works well as a truck but gets a lot more attention than a garden-variety modern hauler. The paint looks quite fresh, and the pattern suggests that someone took a note from the GM playbook and aimed to make it look stock. The subtle silver and white paint combination doesn't scream for attention, but up close it's extremely well done with great finish quality and a shine that looks more show field than job site. No additions or deletions on the original trim, but that's a good thing since these trucks were known for their reserved good looks and don't need a lot of flash to look great. Those long bed sides have been block sanded to eliminate ripples, and even inside the bed there's not much evidence that it ever led a hard life. Add the silver lower areas and matching top and it has an almost sporty look. Excellent chrome on the bumpers, a new windshield, and those big block letters on the tailgate will ensure lots of folk sit up and take notice when this truck rolls past. And we have to admit that the gorgeous light-colored oak bed looks absolutely fantastic against the silver paint. Wow!The interior is almost stock, restored with a fresh leather (not vinyl!) seat cover on the original bench, and check out the matching door panels that keep it looking OEM. A custom billet steering wheel gives it a slightly modified look, and in my opinion, these trucks offered the best-looking gauges of anything in the GM stable in the early '70s. They're original and a little faded, but that's a pretty small complaint in a pretty nice truck. There's a factory-style tilt steering column, a custom center console with a pair of cup holders, and a modern AM/FM/CD stereo in the original radio's slot. Fresh carpets on the floor add an upscale feel and the lightly tinted windows help keep it cool inside on warm days (not to mention looking ultra-cool with the two-tone paint). Motive force comes from a 307 cubic inch V8, and thanks to a Holley 4-barrel carb, Weiand aluminum intake, and a robust-sounding dual exhaust system, it's quite entertaining to drive. They didn't take any risks in the engine bay, finishing it with Chevy Orange paint, some chrome dress-up items, and lots of new parts. Power steering and brakes are welcome on a big hauler like this, as is the TH350 3-speed automatic transmission, making it effortless out on the open road. Underneath, it's solid and clean, almost dressed for show, and the important stuff is in excellent order. Lately Dodge acts like they invented the smooth-riding coil-spring truck suspension, but this C10 had it decades ago, and it rolls on a set of handsome charcoal gray wheels wearing 245/70/15 front and 265/70/15 rear blackwall radials that give it a nice stance.Clean, comfortable, and ready to roll, this Chevy offers a lot of style that's not often found in the pickup world.
