Chevrolet Nova 1974 Description
1974 Chevy Nova Very solid project car!!
This is a 1974 Nova but I was going to convert the front and back to a 1972 as all else is the same on these cars by changing the bumpers, rille parts and rear tail pan. It has a 350 TPI motor and a turbo 350 automatic transmission, am not sure about rear end.
This is a project car and needs restored as it is not running or driving...
It comes with a 1989 Camaro TPI motor and a complete wiring harness from that Car, CU from that car including the master cylinder, uel lines and hoses, rake lines, as tank, adiator, lectric fans, ondenser coil, AF sensor and tubing and all other items needed to convert this to fuel injection. I bought this car at an auction and have not got around to restoring it. I typically restore Camaros. I have recently come across a 1969 Camaro that I will be restoring instead of this Nova so this is for sale as I only do one at a time. This is almost identical to a Camaro in looks and in parts as I have found a lot of the Camaro parts are the same on this as my 1968 Camaro SS. My plan was to change out the rear tail panel and change out the bumpers and grille components to make this a 1972 Nova. If this was a 1972 Nova my price would be double. I added up the cost of of the bumpers, rille parts, ail pan, ights and other items would only be about $1,000 to do this even cheaper if you could find a wrecked 72 in a breaker yard.
Body-
This car is almost 100% rust free, s floor pans are good as are all other sheet metal appears to be good as I did not paint it. Only rust is in the rear tail pan and the trunk lower gutter which was going to be replaced by the new tail pan that is $100. This car comes with a rust free trunk section ready to weld in that the previous owner included with the car. I ran a low power magnet all over the car and all areas appeared to be good as magnet holds everywhere. Lower rear quarter panels look to have some bad body work done but magnet holds so I assumed it was solid. Car is missing rear bumper but all other components are included, ncluding all trim, ights, olding, ront grille parts, ear bumper brackets, verything is there from what I can find as this car comes with 5 boxes of parts. Underneathhas surface rust from sitting many years but is very solid except for trunk area. Please come and look at it as Idid not do the body workbut it appears to be very solid as this car spent most of its life as a drag car as to why the trunk needs replaced as the fuel cell sat in thetrunk and ahole was cut for it. Rockers and lower fenders are good as are all doors and window areas. Front hood has a dent that happened at the auctionand can be repaired.Car is in brown primer but bodywork done was fair and needs to be re-done.
Drive Train-
350 TPI(Tuned port injection) Motor from a 1989 Iroc Camaro(Previous owner says it ran good. I was going to rebuild it and make it a 383 stroker anyway. Complete including A/C, ines, ondenser, adiator, iring harness, CU, uel lines, rake lines, aster cylinder and a bunch of other parts from the 1989 Camaro as I said.. Transmission is a turbo 350 with low miles according to previous owner. My plan was to put in a 700R4 which can go used for about $500 -$750 rebuilt. This car needs a driveshaft as that is missing but can be made for about $250 at a driveshaft shop. All brake lines were cut for some reason by previous owner during his restoration. Included are the lines from the 1989 Camaro and I was going to re-bend them to make them work. Also missing are the front wheel houses (Inner fenders) that can be purchased for $160. Car also has partial flow master exhaust and headers which I am not sure of the brand but are in good shape.
Interior-
Front seats are out of the 1989 Camaro, ear seats are out of 1969 Nova. Front seats are in great shape no rips or tears or anything, nbsp;but I was going to re cover themand rear seats will need some foam and recovered. All interior components are included including a N.O.S dash pad and other N.O.S components all door cards, lastics, indow cranks, tc. are included. Only items I could not find where the seat belts in all the parts. Included are some new rubber items and other new components. All glass is good and included.
Other-
This is a full restoration project, ut is 95% complete with only the drive shaft, ear bumper, nner fenders missing.
Wheels and Tires- Wheels are 15" rally's in decent shape. Tires will need replaced, ut they do hold air very well and will work good while you restore it.
Come look the car over. I am selling it due to restore another Camaro. I bought it because it was cheap and avery solid car and I new I could take away the ugly bumpers for fairly small amount of money tomake it a more desirable 72.
It comes with a clean and clear title and with minimal work can be brought back to life and driven while you work on it as all parts are included except for driveshaft.
This Car is for Sale Locally and I reserve the right to cancel auction.
