Chevrolet Chevelle 1966 Description

You can always spot the work of a perfectionist, and this 1966 Chevrolet Malibu Chevelle is one of those cars that was built by a guy who wanted everything just right. Inside and out, there's not a single bolt that's out of place, and the detailing throughout this frame-on restoration will surprise and delight you.Start with that lovely Marina Blue paint, which is always popular with Chevelle fans. It's quite fresh and has that glittering look that the best cars all seem to have, a sense of newness that draws people to the car for reasons they can't quite explain. And you'd better believe the metal underneath is straight, with quarter panels that can double as mirrors and sharp details that are only highlighted by the Marina Blue paint, it looks fantastic. The appeal of these early Chevelles is their clean look, minimal trim, and great proportions, plus those flying buttress C-pillars, all of which add up to a very sharp piece of vintage muscle. As good as the paint is, the trim is equally nice, with bright chrome bumpers, polished stainless details, and that blacked-out tail panel that's as beautifully painted as the rest of the body. If you can't win an award at your local shows with this car, then they probably just don't like Chevys, because it's stunning. The interior is more of the same: lots of correct, new stuff, all expertly installed. Code 763-B means that these black buckets were original specification, and it was all done without adding any personal touches. The seats wear correct seat covers, the carpets have the correct nap, and nicely rendered door panels look fantastic. You'll also discover that the steering wheel looks virtually new, the gauges have bright, crisp markings like they were just installed a few days ago, and even the dash pad is unmarked by the rigors of time and sunlight. The center console houses an accessory clock and the shifter for the TH350 3-speed automatic transmission, and gives the interior a very finished look that makes this a very desirable car. And like I said, there haven't' been any deviations from stock, right down to the original AM radio still in the dash. With the restoration finished only about six months ago, the interior shows exactly zero wear, and the same goes for the trunk which offers proper spatter-finish paint and a fresh reproduction mat.A beautifully detailed 350 cubic inch V8 highlights that perfectionism I mentioned earlier. No, it's not stock, not with an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake and a 4-barrel carburetor and those awesome black wrinkle valve covers and air cleaner, but there's not speck of dust anywhere. The Chevy Orange paint looks brilliant and vivid, the long-tube headers gleam with a ceramic coating, and there's not a single bolt out of place. Power steering makes this Chevelle easy to maneuver around town and there's a fresh alternator up top. This was a frame-on restoration, but one look underneath will tell you all you need to know about why: this sucker's clean. Not as spotless as the rest of the car, but quite good and certainly not in need of anything. Twin Flowmasters give it the proper attitude and there are fresh shocks all around, so it rides quite well. Classic Torque Thrusts are always a good choice and these wear 215/75/15 front and 225/75/15 rear redline radials. This is a really easy car to love, and it shows in every aspect of the build. If you're a perfectionist, perhaps this is a car that you can appreciate best. Call today!
