1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Hardtop Sports Coupe This is a great example of a well cared for '55 two door Sports Coupe with some nice "period correct" modifications. It's rare to find an original Onyx Black car with the Red and Beige interior (correct match to the factory data plate). Bud bought this '55 about 30 years ago. and he and his wife Lou have enjoyed many cruises. shows and good times. At 80 years old. Bud has the need to trim back a bit and so one of his favorite possessions has to find a new home. Power comes from a conservatively built 327 cubic inch from the late '60's which he believes is putting out about 300 horsepower. The transmission is a Turbo 400 and the rear end is a 3. 55. The power-train is believed to have only about 1. 00 miles since all was rebuilt. The engine sounds excellent with a mild cam and performance exhaust. The car drives straight and smooth. Stopping power comes from a power assisted front disc brake modification. The overall paint is excellent showing only very minor flaws after about 20 years (The hand painted lettering can be wet sanded and wheeled out to remove). The interior is outstanding. The undercarriage is clean and solid. but not perfect and not detailed for show. This is simply an amazing reliable driver that you can enjoy form the minute it becomes yours.
