Chevrolet Corvette 1969 Description
This 1969 Corvette coupe dressed in what appears to be Baldwin Motion Performance parts is a time capsule from the seventies as seen in the pictures. The car was a barn find in Freeport Long Island and has been in storage since 1974. According the previous owner the car was raced almost from day one and the mileage as displayed on the spedo is correct at17,020. The body has no signs of ever being hit except for minor damage in the front, as seen in the photos. All bonding strips are in place with no signs of the nose ever being replaced. The frame is perfectly solid having only surface rust and no signs of repair. The car does not run and is in need of a full restoration. Some parts are placed on the car for the purpose of taking photos only. The motor is NOM but has the correct casting number and date for a 1969 350HP motor. The motor is very clean as seen in the picture of the head castings but does not turn by hand. The rear brakes were frozen from sitting and had to be taken apart to move the car. The transmission is a Muncie M20/21, not sure. What you see in the pictures is what comes with the car no more, no less. Parts that I know are missing or broken is the gas tank & support, windshield, exhaust manifolds, outer heater box, the chrome on the side pipe covers is very poor, hood hinges & Z-bar frame mount. The body mods appear to be Baldwin Motion Performance mail order and include side gills, all four wheel flares, the V-shape back window, the hood, gas fill cap (Working Japan xxx) and full diamond tuff interior. The interior has a very minor tear and can be restored without much trouble. The driver’s side mirror has Ford marking on the underside the same as sold by Baldwin Motion Performance (base of the mirror is broken). I was told by the previous owner that the rear tail lights were from a 1969 Charger. The doors close nice and tight and the t-tops fit right. The weather stripping is original and in good shape. Bumpers are driver quality.
