DESCRIPTION: This NO RESERVE auction is for an outstanding looking 1985 CHEVROLET MONTE CARLO SS. Owned by the same person since new. this one owner car was transformed into a beautiful rolling tribute (in 1995!) to Dale Earnhardt Sr. . long before his untimely exit from the world of NASCAR. years later. Turning this car into an actual reflection of the GM Goodwrench #3 race-car from that era took a lot of love and enormous attention to detail. The stock Monte Carlo SS was an all white car when it was born and after years of service as a daily driver. it was taken off of the road and then the reconstruction began. As new life was being breathed into the body. suspension and interior. a new Target Master 350 engine was slipped into the engine bay. All of the factory pulleys were chrome plated. To enhance the performance of the power plant a mild Iskenderian Racing cam and Corvette steel LT1 heads were added. The factory Rochester Carb and computer were retained. the stock exhaust manifolds were ceramic coated and then followed by 3 inch Magniflow cats. mufflers and 3 inch ornamental stainless steel pipes. The bullet proof transmission is a Freddy Brown built custom 200r4 with overdrive. shift kit and B&M shifter all powder coated in GM blue with a silver pan. The rear end is stock limited slip with 2:72 gears for excellent comfortable cruising speeds and great fuel economy. The stock suspension was improved with the use of Hotchkis boxed control arms and over sized Hotchkis front and rear sway bars and springs on all four corners along with polyurethane bushings and KYB shock absorbers all around. The highly detailed interior and trunk areas include some old school show stopping treatments of lights. mirrors and sound. The music is provided through the use of an Alpine pull out radio. Clarion 6 disc changer and controller. Clarion 10 band equalizer with imager. MTX Thunder amps. a pair of MTX Black Gold 12" woofers in a custom mirror box. Infinity Kappa 3 1/2" dash speakers. Infinity Kappa 6 1/2" door speakers and Infinity 5 1/4" components rear deck speakers. There is a 7 inch monitor with a DVD and VCR with a separate 100 amps for the DVD & VCR. Other extras include orange neon accent lights. rocker switches with fuses that control the DVD and VCR and extra power window switches. Even the interior door switching controls were cleverly relocated to accommodate the new speakers.
