AM/FM Radio SELLER REMARKS If you're looking for the ideal car to hit the cruise nights this summer. what could be better than a rockin' early Camaro? Sporting a muscle-bound small block. awesome paint. and lots of attitude. this triple black 1968 Camaro is ready to have fun. Everyone can agree that the early Camaros. with their smooth looks and minimum of fussy ornamentation. were awesome-looking cars. Heck. GM itself practically started reproducing the things with the latest generation. but even they don't quite hold the appeal that cars like this '68 hardtop do. A good amount of time and effort was invested in making this F-body look like it does. and you can instantly tell that this wasn't built in some guy's garage. Nice. straight panels and decent fit and finish make it appealing in person and a delight to park in your own garage. It's refreshing to see one of these that isn't dressed up like a fake SS. although it does sport a ducktail spoiler out back. On the other hand. we really like the standard flat hood's low-key look. the nicely-fitted black vinyl roof. and the contrast of the chrome fender openings and rocker moldings against the shiny black paint. It also offers nice chrome bumpers and two-element taillights. giving it a great look that isn't trying to be anything other than fast. Camaro interiors are always well-designed. and the guts of this hardtop have been freshened without erasing the factory look. Reproduction seat covers were installed a while ago and show some wear. but the durable materials will probably look good for years to come. It's possible that the door panels may very well be nicely preserved originals and soft parts like the carpet. headliner. and dash pad are probably recent. The woodgrained center console warms up all the black vinyl quite nicely and you'll note that this car is equipped with factory A/C. The factory gauges remain in those deeply recessed binnacles and the entertainment system is now an AM/FM setup that sounds decent. Under that deck lid spoiler. there's a clean trunk with a fresh mat and spare tire with matching cover. That's the original. numbers-matching 327 cubic inch V8 living under the hood. which is a welcome surprise in a car in this price range. The smooth-running small block offers an Edelbrock intake and 4-barrel carburetor. as well as a set of chrome dress-up parts that add a little sparkle. The block itself is painted correct Chevy Orange. but everything else is factory satin black. so the engine really stands out. A set of long-tube headers dump into a great-sounding exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers. while a TH350 3-speed automatic handles gear swaps and feeds a rugged 10-bolt rear end. Original floors are further evidence that this has always been a nicely maintained car. and overall it drives very well. Fresh Rally wheels wearing 225/60/15 BFGoodrich T/A radials give it an awesome old-school stance that's ready to rumble. These days it's refreshing to see a Camaro that isn't pretending to be something it's not. Fast and clean. this one is simply built for fun.
