Chevrolet Other Pickups 1949 Description
Up for auction is a rare GMC 5 window deluxe cab 1/2 ton short wheel base step side truck. This truck was a frame off restoration. I tried to keep the truck as original looking as possible. But at the same time I changed some things so you can actually enjoy the truckon modern roads so basically this is a" resto modded " truck All nuts and bolts have been replacedThe frame was sand blasted and painted with chassis paint. The king pins on the front axle have been replaced along with the rear leaf shackles. The truck has been painted in single stageFire Mist red metallic flake The cab and all body parts were media blasted and primed using Z Chrome filler primer. I have been told by a lot of people that this is a show truck. I did not build this truck to be a show truck or trailer queen. I restore these trucks to use everyday. Below is a list of everything that was done to the truck that I can remember. The front tag topper comes with the truck but not the front personalized tag. This truck runs great and I woulddrive it any where. As far as the mileage on the engine goes, I was driving the truck before I hooked up the speedometer cable. So there is roughly around 2000 miles on the truck since I restored it maybe a little less or a little more. The truck runs and drives great and is a real head turner. And my sale price is reasonable so if you are looking for a truck like this do not let this one pass you buyCLICK THE LINK TO SEE A VIDEO OF THE TRUCK

FRAME is original to the truck but has hadsome upgrades done to it. It has beensand blasted and painted new king pins and rear shackles. The tie rod has been replaced with a heavy duty one. The tie rod ends have been replaced with updated style. The rear end came from a 1970 Camaro The front axle is the standard straight axle. This truck has been converted to the 5 lug bolt pattern. I converted the front brakes to disc brakes using CPP disc brake conversion. The rear brakes are drum brakes. The truck does have power brakes and power steering. The emergency brakes have all been replaced and I used the original set up. The gas tank is a 16 gallon and is under the rear of the bed.
ELECTRICAL the truck is converted to 12 volts using a new wiring harness. The alternator is a 1 wire alt. The ignition system is electronic using a HEI distributor. The electricwiper motor is from Newport Engineering made in the U.S.A not a cheap china copy. Al the lights work including the interior dome light turn signals and hazards work..
UNDER THE HOOD350 crate engine with a Pro Comp intake with a Holley 600 CFM 4 barrel carb with electric choke . The ignition is a HEI electronic distributor. The starter is a high torque starter. The electrical system has been converted to 12 volts of course and the alternator is a 1 wire set up. The radiator is a 3 row aluminum with a 16" electric fan that comes on automatically at 180 degrees. The radiator has a stainless steel over flow canister beside it. The transmission is a turbo 350 automatic with a standard aluminum pan and a chrome dust cover. The exhaust system is a dual 2 1/4" pipeexhaust system. The truck is using the mechanical fuel pump not a electric one. I trust the mechanical pumps more.
EXTERIOR new outside door handles andmirrors. All the rubber seals have been replaced window seals door seals etc. The cab corners have been replaced inner and outer. The front hood emblem is original to the truck the 2 side hood emblems are GM approvedreproduction emblems. The bed has oak bed wood installed with stainless steel bed stripes and all hardware is stainless steel. The fuel filler cover is aluminum flip up style. The bed chains are stainless steel. The front chrome grille is triple chrome plated. The running boards have been coated with truck bed liner paint. The tires are 15 inch good year truck style tires on aluminum bullet hole style rims.
INTERIOR The floor boards have been replaced with original style reproductions. The cab floor has been coated with POR 15, The cab is well insulated. and OEM style carpet and fire wall insulted pad were installed. New door and window handles. The truck does have a Vintage Air system installed and the heat and A/C work great.. I installed a 12 volt wind shield wiper conversion. I installed a reproduction style radio that is am/fmblue tooth and cd capable The center console is a custom made for this truck. I also installed dual sun visors. The dome light works and the e brake works just like the original set up. The seats are power seats, and the driver seat has lumbar support. The gauges are Dolphin gauges and all work. The chrome column is a tilt column and the shifter is on the column. The steering wheel is a Grant 15" and the truck does have seatbelts(lap belt style) installed. The toggle switch you see on the air vent channel is a anti theftengine kill switch. If I 'am going to be away from the truck for a while I would flip the toggle switch down That way a thief could hot wire the truck and still would not be able to start the truck
All the rubber seals have been replaced windshield, back glass, etc. The tires have about 500 miles on them
I might have forgotten a few things but if I remember them I will list them.
Alabama does not issue a titles for vehicles older then 1976. When you purchase the truck you will receive a notarizedaffidavit from the State Of Alabama stating that they do not issue titles on vehicles older then 1976 a notarized bill of sale and a signed tag receipt. I have sold some of my trucks to people in England, France, Virginia, Florida, Pennsylvania, New York, Tennessee and they never had a problem with registering the trucks.
