Chevrolet C/K Pickup 1500 1972 Description
1972 Chevy Cheyenne K10 ½ ton 4x4 PickupThis is a factory built 4x4, coveted Cheyenne package, last and most desired year of this body style. The mechanicals are excellent, this truck needs some cosmetics to be nice. This truck is 99.5% rust free, the body is in incredible condition. I’ve driven the truck 50 miles to check out the major expensive components. All checked out great. Finding a factory 72 4x4 Cheyenne this rust free is a feat in itself. I’ve restored dozens of these trucks over the years, they are seriously appreciating in value, I work most of the high end car auctions as an appraiser, these trucks are going crazy, collectors from all over the world are buying them up in my prime area of Eastern OR WA and S ID. The best 4x4’s are found in these areas. This truck sold new in Oregon, then was moved to the Idaho desert in 1972, stayed there until I bought it. I have the original owner’s manual, warranty card with metal tag for this truck, original 72 GM emissions papers, and the best part, the original build sheet. This is the most intact build sheet I’ve seen on a 67-72 GM truck. I’ve owned dozens of these trucks, only a handful have I got all this paperwork with it. Family told me 100,xxx original miles, no way to verify, but I believe it from condition.

MECHANICAL
The motor is a built small block 350. It has a bumpy 4x4 cam, aluminum intake, 4 barrel electric choke carb, MSD ignition with box (this is the one you can set max RPM or rev-limiting on) headers. Compression and leak down tested perfect. I estimate the motor in the 375-400HP range. The TH-350 auto transmission shifts perfect, was rebuilt same time as motor, has a shift kit. The gear driven 205 transfer case is the best one for these trucks and works great. The axles are original with power disc front brakes. 4 in suspension lift with 33 in tires. Dual throaty exhaust. Power steering works great.
BODY
The body on this truck is in incredible condition speaking 67-72 GM truck. Some of the paint is original, some touch ups. The rockers and all sheet metal look to be original. The truck was parked in a garage for 15 years waiting for the rebuilt motor. The hood was taken off and stored outside. The hood got baked in the desert sun down to the original red primer. The new motor and trans were installed a couple years ago, hood put back on.Rather than nit-pick this un-restored truck, please look at all the photos on the link and watch the entire video. I go into more detail, please establish condition for yourself.
I’ve tested out the major components, no complaints. I have not checked every bulb wire etc. My idea is to keep the cost down, I get all the expensive components squared away and to a point where you don’t need a full scale shop to tinker and improve as you go along. I’ve driven it 50 miles with a smile ear to ear. I always get asked if a guy can fly in and drive it across the US. I simply don’t have enough seat time in this truck or to tell anyone a 3000 mile drive is a good idea on any vintage vehicle. Any little thing can happen, and does on 100k cars I’ve driven and been in groups with. I recommend long distance shipping. I don’t have any time to do additional work to this truck.
I have a clean clear Idaho state title in hand that matches the VIN tag. I require full payment within 3 days closed auction via cash in person or bank to bank wire transfer to my US Bank business account. No checks, no credit cards, no PayPal, no bank loans. Title and vehicle released after cleared funds in full, they don’t leave my shop until cleared. I will deliver at $1.50 a loaded mile from 99353 up to 300 miles. I have an excellent shipping broker whom I’ve sent vehicles all over the US for years without a hitch, I will put you in contact with him or work with your shipper. I will sell to the 1st local or eBay that agree with me on price. $13,000 OBO. No trades. You are welcome to view the truck or pay someone to do so for you during not after the auction. Ebayers with less than 10 FB, please email me your phone # before bidding. Thanks!
