Chevrolet Corvette 1982 Description
Hello, what I have here is my 1982 Corvette that I bought back in Jan. 2012 I believe. I am the second owner and have meticulous babied this car. I have done several updates to my liking and benefit to the car. There is so much to list and will try my best to do so. First off I'm a non smoker older adult with no kids. I bought it with 92K miles and have put on just 5 K in 5 years. So off we go.Engine: Stock original 350 short block but added Edelbrock aluminum E-Street heads with Comp Cams 1.6 roller tip rockers. Has a Edelbrock aluminum water pump and true double roller timing chain. Intake is a Renegade with ported 2" throttle bodies with a fuel pressure gauge running 14psi coming from a '85 Delco Corvette fuel pump. Computer is a stock unit with a Jet stage I chip however I have a retrofitted ECM ( Dynamic EFI EBL Flash with the HAM board installed) that can be programmed ($700 just for that). It has a base tune for a 89 TB Camaro. I do not know how to tune so that's why it's not in there but ran it for awhile and really brought out the cam idle. Cam is a Comp 260 with Comp pushrods. Exhaust manifolds are stock but bought an extra set and had the air tubes removed. Exhaust system is a Corvette Central true duals with Magnaflow stainless mufflers.
Radiator is a DeWitts with dual electric fans but in order to run those fans I had the factory alternator stator replaced with a 130A one but looks factory.
Suspension is stock except it has Bilstein HD shocks and a new rear mono-leaf spring.
Interior is in excellent condition and has been replaced. The speedo was sent to Red Line gauges to read 140 in the original color and font. All gauges work perfectly. The four speakers were replaced with high quality units and the dash din was just recently upgraded from a CD player to a unit that streams or Blue Tooth. No CD in it. Both door guts were removed and glass channels were cleaned and lubed. Both window regulators were replaced along with the wire harness. Window motors are original but removed cleaned and new grease installed. Both locking actuators were replaced with AC Delco. Latch mechanisms were removed cleaned and greased.
Heater box was removed, cleaned and new seals replaced. Also replaced heater core with a N.O.S. unit.
Tires are a year or two old but have so very little mileage on them. The original spare was replaced just because of age and the original spare was never on the ground. Still had the nubs on the tire.
Brakes: I have fought and fought with the original brakes to get a firm pedal so I finally replaced them with Wilwood calipers and master cylinder. Leaving the hard lines to the calipers are stainless lines.
Vacuum headlight actuators have been replaced with electric motors and love them! Low beam headlights are Hella with Morimoto HID conversion. These lights light up the road like no other! You will be impressed!.
Body: I would say it's in just about excellent condition other than a couple chips hear and there. Frame is solid along with the birdcage. Car was repainted by the previous owner and does have a fiberglass nose on it. I had the rear fascia repainted last year due to bringing in the garbage can and scratched the corner.I had the windshield replaced a few years back and had the guy remove the glass and come back later so I could clean it throughly and inspect. It was in perfect condition. The glass now has a slight scuff on the lower right side and was too minor to pull it again after I got all the mouldings to sit right. All theweatherstripping is new and fits great and the upper chrome corner pieces are N.O.S. as well.
This is a great car and am sad to sell it but lifechanges. Please feel free to call me or send me any questions. (309) 846-3496 my name is AL.
I have a reprint of the original window stick and part of the build sheet. The other half is still above the gas tank.
You could get in this car and drive it anywhere oh and the AC works great too. I haveallreceipts of everything that I've done to this car and is about 2" thick. I could go on and on but plain and simple this is a very nice 82 Corvette.
Thanks for looking.
