Dodge Other Pickups 1953 Description
This is a lot of distinction for a very affordable price. After all, the vintage truck market is heating up with the mainstream Chevys and Fords, but when was the last time you saw a 1953 Dodge pickup as a full custom build? With nice upgrades and a 383 stroker V8 heart, this is the pickup that can easily steal the show for far less than others paid for their silver-metal pickups.1953 was the final year for the B-series trucks, so over 60 years later, these pickups are worth it for the rarity alone. But that's not what really attracted you. We won't even try to pretend the silver you see today was available from the factory in '55. You can tell by the high-gloss shine that this is the product of a nice investment in a professional application of a modern clearcoat finish. The shine also tells you how straight the body is on this Dodge. It really lets you see the unique features on this pickup like the old-school side opening hood, and the extra tall bed sides. That last feature was to allow the Dodges to haul more than the other guys, but today it just helps add depth to the restored real wood truck bed. Of course the attraction on this pickup also comes from all the custom features that include the shaved bumpers, side exhaust, and large 18-inch Boss chrome wheels that help emphasize the aggressive stance.Inside the 1950s template has been fitted with a ton of upgrades. It starts with the comfy modern bucket seats with the cup holder center console in-between them. The gray cloth used here coordinates nicely with the carpeting and custom door panels. You slip behind the more modern sports steering wheel, and gaze at a full panel of Dolphin gauges. This has even been upgraded with an electric heater and AM/FM/CD stereo to give you far more comfort that when this Dodge was new. When you peek in the engine bay, the bright orange block of the Chevy V8 radiates like a treasure uncovered. These small block motors are great to see because they take plenty of upgrades and are easy to get parts, that's why this 350 is now a 383 stroker motor with an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, MSD ignition, and headers. Not only does that last feature add power, but it helps give the dual exhaust a satisfying growl. More than just upgrading the motor, this vintage Dodge feels great going down the road thanks to upgrades like the Chevy independent front suspension, power steering, three-speed automatic transmission, front disc brakes, and the grip of modern performance tires at all four corners. In the red hot vintage truck market, the most unique one is king. So when realize you can't remember the last time you saw a cool classic Dodge at the car show, you'll realize how special this deal is. The last one we saw didn't last long, call now!!
