Dodge Other 1976 Description
1976 Dodge Tradesman 100 short wheel base (109"), 225/6 cylinder 3 on the tree. 100% original time capsule from the 1970's custom van era.
Original, untouched with low original miles. I am the 2nd owner. The original owner purchased this van in 1976 and customized it himself. It was always stored indoors and has never been in the snow. No rust, and the undercarriage is in excellent shape.
The chrome bumpers are in great original condition. It has the time period correct polyglass tires. The rear windows are tinted in mirrored glass. The front door windows are tinted in bright blue and it even has etched glass mushrooms in the passenger side vent window. Mushroom style port hole windows on both sides. Custom paint job from the Allman Brothers album Eat A Peach on both sides. The condition of the paint is very good with some small scratches and rock chips from being driven. Still vibrant and eye catching for a over 40 year old paint job. It get's attention whenever it is driven! Only driven a handful of miles since the late 1970's. It has the original bias ply spare tire. Aluminum ladder on the back with a luggage rack on top which was very popular on custom vans. One roll up roof vent. Shag carpet is in beautiful condition with no sun fading. All the gauges work. Headers were added and they exhaust out the side of the van and give it a throaty rumble. Grill is in very good condition, along with the side marker and tail light lens. It has vinyl captains chairs which have some cracking due to age. The body is as straight as it was when it left the Dodge factory.
I have the original title.
These vans are very scarce and hard to come by. They were driven and used, mostly as work vans. When you do find one they are usually rusted beyond belief or restored to the point of losing it's original time period correct appeal. I have added a picture of myself with the custom van I owned in 1976, which is no longer on the road. My life's dream was to find another custom van and it took me 30 years to find this van as a replacement. These vans are rare!
