Dodge Challenger 1971 Description
1971 Dodge Challenger RT. Matching numbers 340 with a TKO 5 speed trans. Has 2 build sheets and fender tag and is a real RT. Car was rolled but can definitely be fixed. Car was restored completely before accident. So that means you get a complete undamaged interior, (except one of the inner panels that goes from the roof to rear seat has a crack and driver's seat has a 1/2" circular hole in it from the accident), complete operational drive train (starts, runs and shifts fine), inner door panels good, bumpers (which have been re-chromed), tail light lenses good, seats recovered, complete havoc components, rally gauges, etc. I have a HUGE packet of receipts! Damage is worst on the right rear of roof, and lesser damage to both doors, both quarters and left front fender. It definitely needs a new roof skin ($599 from AMD), a new front right fender and a new left side rocker panel. Right rear quarter is a crap shoot if it can be saved, if not $599 from AMD depends on how it goes when the roof is pushed back outward. Our process would be to remove seats, put heavy boards on floor and then place a hydraulic jack between the floor and the roof, then push roof toward passenger side just behind driver's seat. This would put things back where they belong. Both doors, left fender and left quarter in our opinion can be banged out and repaired. Hood, entire tail panel & spoiler are near perfect. Deck lid is lifted just a bit on the left rear corner, easily tweeked.
Everything in the engine compartment is fine, as well as hvac system, wiring, lights, lenses, speedometer needle fell off, trunk pan good, also mat, fuel neck, original jack & tire & all the trim pieces still fine except the windshield trim. All glass is gone except drivers side rear, wheels are shot also. Engine rebuilt in 2005 (have all receipts). Invoice for over $5000 for the TKO transmission and hydraulic clutch.
We will repair and restore this car for you if you are interested. Contact me for pricing. We have restored many Mopars and have great references.
