Dodge Coronet 1968 Description
This 1968 Dodge Coronet sedan has the 318 V-8 with 4 bbl intake, n-silenced air cleaner and dual exhaust, acked by the 727 Torqueflite transmission. This is an excellent low mileage original car with only 39,765 miles since new. This is a fleet model of the type used by police departments in 1968, nbsp;with only rubber floor mats, inimal trim and heavy duty suspension. I have all records since new, nbsp;including the original manual, wners card, indow sticker and the original owners logbook of all mileage driven and maintenance performed over the years.Purchased new in 1968, he car was driven sparingly over the years and finally garaged in the early 80s, here it sat in dry storage until approx 2 years ago. At that time, he entire drive train was gone through and it received new brakes shoes and lines, nbsp;a new fuel tank and fuel lines, new 4bbl carburetor, econditioned radiator and trans oil cooler. The car runs excellent and drives like it just left the dealership. Power steering is nice and tight, nd the car tracks absolutely straight and true. The original style manual drum brakes work exactly as they should, ith no pulling or shuddering whatsoever. The 727 Torqueflite transmission shifts smooth and crisp. This car is very fast, nd with the .323 rear axle it easily keeps up with freeway traffic here in southern California. It has new heavy duty rear springs and shocks, nd rides on new 205/75/R14 Uniroyal tires mounted on painted steel wheels with police style dog dish hub caps.
The paint and upholstery are all original and show only minor wear. Paint is thin in some spots, nd there are minor touch ups to some of the edges. If you look at it in the right light, ou can see a minor ripple in the left rear quarter. Seat upholstery, eadliner, ash pad and package tray are perfect, ith no sun cracking or tears. Original style non-retractable shoulder belts in front and lap belts in rear. The original rubber floor mat is in very good shape in front, ut in the rear it has become brittle and cracked in some spots due to age. The car has never been wrecked, nd there is absolutely no rust through anywhere. The trunk, loors, ockers and quarters are all as solid as can be. All glass is original with no chips or cracks. The original trunk mat is in very good condition. Has the original jack, ut the spare is no longer present.
All lights, auges and accessories work as they should. Original AM radio works, s does the heater and defroster.
I have taken it on a number of road trips and it has always performed flawlessly. I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere. I wouldn't sell it, ut a new project demands the garage space.
Over 10k invested in making this Dodge a very reliable and fast daily driver. It looks, uns and sounds just like a late 60's Mopar should.
The reserve is way below what I have invested in it.
