Dodge Stealth 1991 Description
I purchased this car from it's original owner on Oct.15, 2004 with 66,123 miles. He was friends with a local Chrysler dealership owner who had connections and was able to purchase the car and had it shipped directly from Indianapolis Motor Speedway after it was used as a parade car for the 1991 Indianapolis 500. In order to purchase one of these Pace Car Stealths, the dealer also had to purchase a Shelby Daytona and a Shelby Dakota so, very few dealers were willing to risk that expense. You will find the car to be completely original except for a new battery and new tires. I drove the car a few times during the first 2 to 3 years I owned it but, it has just sat in my garage for the last 10 years. I recently had the fuel system flushed, cleaned and new fuel added....it starts, drives, handles exceptional! It does now have a slight hesitation (stumble) when first accelerating....then clears up and runs great. The pearl white paint is still excellent...power windows, locks, cruise control, even a/c all work. No leaks, no noises. There is a small wear spot on the driver's seat back edge (very light).....the power antenna motor runs as if it's going up and down but the mast doesn't go up....there is a light on the dash that says "tour/sport"....the windshield defroster plastic grids have cracked on the ends.....just trying to disclose anything I can find. The car now has 69,231 miles. Included with the car are original owners- service manuals...service records...1991 Indianapolis 500 t-shirt...cap...official program....signed poster. Now to answer "why are you selling it?" I planned to surprise my son with it (he had joined the army in 2003) but he was later deployed to Iraq where he lost his life in 2007.....now after 10 years I'm selling the car......no reserve ....starting thousands below what I paid. All funds must clear before car or title are released. Car will be advertised locally so auction may end if it sells.
