Dodge Charger 1968 Description
This is a 1968 Dodge Charger that has to be one of the sharpest Dukes of Hazzard tribute cars out there! This car was built with care and detail everywhere as you can see in the pictures. The car was a rust free solid car when I started. It was originally a 318 auto. Car. It is now a 440 six pack 4 speed all built with factory r/t equipment. The motor is a 1970 440 hp motor with a 1969 1/2 six pack setup. All the carbs and intake are all date coded 1969 1/2. It is a factory 4 speed set up from a 1970 r/t charger. The car is a factory power steering and a/c car. I have put a polished serpentine belt system with a chrome ac compressor and power steering pump. The a/c works perfect! It's ice cold! It has an aluminum radiator and is probably one of the cleanest engine compartments out there. As you can see the motor compartment and dash is signed by all the original dukes of hazzard cast members. Even the late James Best! The interior is perfect as you can see. I kept the factory design I just changed the colors to match the paint. So the design from the factory is there just the colors are different. I put the roll bar in it and had it professionally powder coated. It's just bolted to the floor so you can take it out if you desire. The dash itself is in great shape. The gauges are all there but a few of them do not work. They could use re-working to make them all work like they should. Some of the gauges work and some don't. You can get it rebuilt I just haven't had the time to get it done. The paint is in great shape but has some flaws here and there. Not bad by no means just a few chips. It looks absolutely amazing when you walk up to it! The decals can be peeled off if you want to remove them. The wheels are custom made Boyd coddington wheels made just for this car. I had them built so the offset would fit flush with the fenders. The tires are Michelin and are in great shape. The chrome is all in real good shape and the bumpers are new front and rear. I built this car in 2008 and have only driven it about 500 miles since done. It has a small oil leak that has developed from sitting. I'm sure it's just a dried seal from sitting. Not bad just don't want to miss anything. The car still has its factory drum brakes. I had planned on changing them to disc just another thing I didn't get to. It doesn't effect anything it just doesn't stop like a modern day car. This car has been garaged kept and looks amazing. If you are in the area feel free toCome by and take a look! These cars are very hard to find in this condition. Everything is solid and in great shape. I require a $500 deposit within 48 hours of auction close. The balance to be paid within 7 days of auction close. Once paid I will store the car for as long as needed for free. Thanks for looking and feel free to email with any questions you might have.
