Dodge Dakota 1992 Description
I occasionally use this truck locally. It comes with a Meyers 6.5 foot plow that I used this past winterfor my own drive. It burns oil. There is approximately 50-60 pounds compression on the two cylinders near the firewall. It does have a few issues. For some reason it will misfire sometimes when it is started. If It is turned off and then restarted it's ok. Sometimes I have to do this a few times before it is ok. Last winter it wouldn't start so I bought another ECM. Did the same thing until I read an article about connections in the wiring harness. Moved the harnessand it's been good ever since. Sometimes it wants to stall when I come to stop but I've learned to live with and make theadjustments to keep it running before it stalls. The four wheel drive works good along with the plow and all the lights. The picture of the dash was taken a couple days ago when the outside temp was 86 degrees after driving it for about an hour. The tach quit working a few weeks ago. All the brake lines were replaced this pastwinter. New pads on the front, new battery andserpentine belt. The frameappears to be solid except for the one spot up front -see picture. The front driver side has a holebelow the rocker panel as can be seen in the one picture and some kind of plastic melted on the right dash. It was like that when I bought it.This truck had one of those paint jobs from the factory that peeled so I sprayed it with underbody paint. Bottom line, I don't have the time to sort out the problems. If you have any questions please ask.
