Dodge Lancer 1957 Description
1957 Dodge Custom Royal Hello classic Mopars and Mr. Exner's big fin cars enthusiasts and fans. Seldom found anymore. here is a very rare. all original and unmolested 1957 Dodge Custom Royal 2 door hardtop with super rare factory installed air (AC) and power brakes (with booster). I believe that this is the model/trim level just under the even rarer D500 Dodge. This very solid and straight automobile has been in enclosed storage for many. many years awaiting some mild refurbishing and/or a little bit of restoration work (no need to go all out to make this car a nice driver). This is as close to a barn find as it comes. Very solid and straight body showing only normal to very minor wear and blemishes. No body damage to speak of except for the driver side fender. which shows some minor damage near the front edge by the headlight (small dent). I will include a replacement fender and side stainless steel trim piece that I had acquired some years ago which are in great shape for the person who chooses the buy it now price option. There is normal. slight/minimal rust here and there (mostly surface discoloration. some scratches and spots - nothing remotely bad at all. but a couple of areas do show minor pitting such as the floor. trunk pan and a couple of small spots on the trunk lid near the lower edge . etc. ). The frame looks good/very good. The exterior paint (appearing to be original) is in good/fair condition and may not even need to be redone even though it shows some scratches and surface rust spots. rock chips. etc. here and there ; a very good detail or buffing with compounds/waxes may produce quite a surprisingly good result? The car does not run. but rolls and steers fairly well. I do believe that the big V8 engine is a 325 Poly (260 HP). Motor turns freely and should not need very much work at all. The windshield is cracked/has a small hole on the driver's side and will need to be replaced. The passenger side front window (flat glass) has a crack in it but is whole; the rest of the glass is in great/excellent condition. All the stainless steel trim is there: it is in good to very good condition. Some of the DODGE scripts/letters are missing on the hood and trunk lid as seen in photos. but I will include spare letters/scripts for free for the person who chooses the buy it now option so that they have two complete sets and some extras. Those are in fair condition. The bumpers are very solid. in nice condition and fairly straight; the rear one could stand to be re-chromed at some point in the future. The hubcaps (original) are in extremely good condition and the lancer heads are super nice. The lancer spears and head emblems on the rear quarters are also in remarkable condition. Interior appears to be all original (seats may have been recovered at some time with period correct material. but could stand to be redone). The seat frames are very solid and are damage free. but the seats (at least the front ones) will need to be reupholstered. new carpet needs to be installed. the rear deck lid will need to be replaced (somewhat dried up) and the headliner needs to be repaired/tuned up. Three of the five original headliner panels (center ones) will need to be reinstalled (they are now in the trunk - the back and front end panels are still in place inside the car) - All five are in very good shape. The door panels are in good to fair condition; the rear ones are still on while the front ones were taken off (see photos) - they are inside the trunk now. The instrument panel and dashboard are in pretty good condition and are complete. a good cleaning and buffing should work magic. Everything is there (door handles. window cranks. etc. ). The odometer shows only just over 75K (75. 25 miles) from new. which are believed to be original based on the good/great overall condition of the car. Unbelievable! This big fin '57 Dodge is in remarkable condition (by comparison with what is usually found/available) and is absolutely worthy of someone's time and attention. Although somewhat needed. the restorative work can be as minimal or as involved as the new owner will want. This rare and great original survivor and somewhat iconic automobile just needs a reasonable amount of effort combined with some TLC to bring back to its former glory. Just think about how pleasurable it will be to bring it to car shows. cruises and just enjoying it. This rare car is complete. unmolested. has the original drive train and rare factory options and the engine turns freely! It is priced quite lower than it should and the Buy It Now price is more than reasonable for this type of classic automobile in this condition. Here is your chance to reasonably acquire and own a true American classic automobile. Reserve is close to the Buy it Now price but is a little bit lower. Bid or buy - your opportunities :)Please call me with any questions at 303-941-1765 if you are serious about purchasing the car; I will try my best to address any of your inquiries (apparently there are a lot of people out there who love to waste other's time - please don't be one of them! - they tend to really wear you out - I am indeed relisting the car as someone wasted my last auction. bidding up and winning the auction. only to decline paying. saying he did not have any money !). Bid with confidence - see my 100% positive feedback. Please note that the red tail light plastic lenses and the scripts have been placed inside the trunk in a box after the photos were taken to prevent any damage and/or loss. The extra parts shown on one photo are also in the trunk; most are extras/spares. Also available for sale. a complete. all original 1957 Dodge Coronet 2 door sedan/2door post car (with non running in line 6 motor) in fair condition - could be restored as a driver or. Very fairly priced at about 3K OBO. Also very nice (running) 318 engine with attached 727 Torqueflite transmission (could be used for same 57 Coronet above) - about 3K as well. Lots of parts for 1957 Plymouths (Belvedere/Fury) some very rare. Call for details/prices. Thanks for your interest in my action!
