Dodge Coronet 1968 Description
1968 Dodge Coronet For Sale is a 1968 Dodge Coronet 440 powered by a 383 4 Speed. The original configuration is 383 2 Barrel with 4 speed A833. which is believed to be 1 of 91 made. There were 3381 383 2 barrel Coronets built in 1968 as the 2 door hardtop. highline. The car was built April. 27 1968. in QQ1 Bright Blue Metallic. with a black vertical stripe and a high level split bench seat in black vinyl. AM music master economy radio. It is believed that this is the original engine and transmission. The intake and cam have been changed. the cam is not known. but the intake is an Edelbrock Performer RPM with an Edelbrock carb. The car starts and runs great. has a very nice thump at idle and pulls hard through the RPM range. When the engine was changed to the 4 barrel set up it was gone through completely and built to handle the added power. All new gaskets were installed. There was an aftermarket aluminum radiator installed with added cooling capacity. The heater core was bypassed. When the engine was redone a new clutch was installed. it functions normally and all the gears engage without issue. The car was originally equipped with manual steering and manual brakes and all function as they should. The original wheels and tires were replaced with a wider set; the fronts are 15x7 with a 235/60R15 and the rears are 15x8 with a 295/50R15 with new BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires with like new tread. The car has been repainted and the original body side molding has been removed. There were new quarter panels installed and looks to be a nice job overall. The paint is very even and has good coverage. with a nice shine. There are some spots with overspray on the rubber trim parts that were not removed prior to paint. All of the glass is in good shape. with some scratches where the trim had hit the rear windows at some point in the last 47 years. All of the windows go up and down as they should. they are manually operated. Locks and latches function as they should. The interior is mostly original; the carpet was replaced but the seat covers and door panels are the original as well as the dash pad and gauges. The interior is in very good condition overall. with the one tear in the seat where it folds as shown in the pictures. This car is a real nice driver that has plenty of power to spare. It is a star whenever you pull up at a car show. This cruiser is ready to go and show. You could hop in and drive this car anywhere and feel secure that you will make it there.
