Dodge Dart 1974 Description

1974 Dodge Dart I am selling this car for an amazing deal at a fixed price so that someone can afford to come get it and do some work on it. I just need the room and Jenny needs a good home!

Four Door green with green interior.

Vin LL41C4F182758

64, 48 original miles. The mileage is exempt on the title due to the age but the car has plenty of documentation to show that the odometer is accurate.

Clear Florida Title

Located in Marathon in the middle of the Florida Keys. The car needs brakes and can't be driven away, you must tow or trailer it or do not buy! Please read the description.

The car is 1974 and was bought new in New York and sold to it’s second owner in 1974. That family kept the car up there and then moved it to Florida in 2008 or so it seems, and then they are the ones who sold it to me April last year.

I drove the car every day until the brakes went out, which was around last August, then I parked it and haven’t driven it since. It ran great and got me around just fine. It’s a slant six engine, I am not a mechanic and don’t know lots of details. It’s an old car and the original engine (and most everything else).

The prior owners clearly took care of the car to be in this shape. I have tons of documentation from their original bill of sale to the registration from way back then. Lots of “stuff” shows it has had lots done. One receipt in 2008 from here in my town is four pages long of work totaling $2, 00. That included replacing the fuel tank and fuel gauge, hoses, clamps, bearings, brakes, belts and so on…lots of stuff not but a hand full of thousands of miles ago.

This is a solid car but does have some rust as you can see in the pictures; mostly behind the rear wheels on the fender. I stopped that with clear rust stop as I preferred to leave the patina look and keep the original paint. The original paint shines up pretty nice, as you can see in the photos from when I drove it every day. The spare is still in the trunk, the jack, some stickers on the trunk lid etc. I know the brakes don’t work. The stereo didn’t work or wasn't hooked up. Aside from that I think everything was fine when I drove it, as I say I beat around town in our little beach town every day smoking cigars and taking it easy!

The car is wonderful but I am not a mechanic and more importantly I have two spots in my driveway, one for our “real” car and the other is now needed for my new boat. If I had room I would let it hang around and work on it, but I don’t.

The pictures are from 5/17/15 except where they say DAILY DRIVER and are clearly different, those were taken last summer when I was driving it, just for reference.

This would be a great beach cruiser (see my custom vintage roof rack!) or rat rod. Maybe you restore it or make a muscle car, it’s solid and very original and it’s lots of fun! This is a barn find kind of deal, a time capsule car!

Terms of the sale:

The car MUST BE TOWED AWAY. It cannot be worked on at my house and I will not allow you to start and drive it with the brakes not working, they have had work done on them in the recent past but they completely stopped working (aside from parking brake) and I will not allow the car to be driven no matter what. You can charge the battery or jump it to hear the engine turn, that's all I am promising. I don't want to mess with any more than that. It's been sitting!

IF YOU SHOW UP WITHOUT A TRAILER OR A DOLLY I WILL NOT SELL YOU THIS CAR.

You can hear it turn over but I am sure the carb needs cleaned and so on, and that will not be done here. If that makes you uncomfortable bid accordingly or don’t bid at all.

Immediate deposit of $300 required and if that is not done immediately the car will not be yours. This will not be refunded if you change your mind. I don’t have the time or energy to deal with slackers. I would rather sell the car for cheap to someone who will follow through. You can inspect the car first by contacting me. Once you bid you are accepting that it’s as described and being sold as is with no warranties or guarantees.

Balance due in cash or via paypal prior to the car moving. The car must leave here by the end of May.

Ask any questions before you bid. I am happy to help this sweet old car find a new home. The car is sold without license plates, though it is currently title and registered the plates are specific to me and stay with me. LOOK AT MY FEEDBACK. I am a long time user who buys and sells big stuff, the last big thing was the brand new boat that needs this parking spot! I am nice normal honest person who will be glad to talk with you or answer any questions.
