Dodge Dart 1968 Description

Up for auction is my 1968 Dodge Dart GTS 340/4Barrel "LA" high performance, lass- special, door hard top built in Hamtramck, I.

When I purchased this car I was told it was a numbers matching car but I couldn't fined the fender tag or a build sheet when I went thru all the boxes of stuff. The gentleman that took the car apart had passed away and his kid's said they had no idea where they might be. The car is black with white interior, 40 automatic on the floor with a sure grip rear end. The car has four wheel manual brakes &manual steering.

The car was completely redone with the following:

Body: The car was in primer when I purchased it and ready for paint. But not knowing what was under the primer I had my body man strip it back to bare metal and all he found was a couple of small patches on the rear quarters that in his opinion were done very well. But I am fuzzy and I decided to have him install two new full quarters from AMD so that way the black paint will look very nice and the lines will be straight.

Interior: new carpet, ew headliner, ew sun visors, ew door panels, ew door handles, ew window cranks, ew arm rests, ew arm rest bases, ew seat covers, ew foam buns, ew foam & burlap for back seat. All the springs for seats were cleaned and painted black, ewpackage tray, ew front windshield, ew dash cluster circuit boards, ew pilot wood grain steering wheel, ew glove box and new gaskets for front and rear windows.

Exterior: new vinyl top, ew vinyl top trim, ew hood molding, ew wheel well molding's, ew front and rear window trim, ew door handles, ew locks for doors & trunk lid, ew marker lights, ew tail light bezels and tail light buckets, ew felts for windows,new front bumper, ew rear bumper, ew license plate light, ew grille, ew headlight bezels, ew turn signal lights, ew GTS emblems, ew rubbers around doors, ew rubber trunk seal, ew remote driver side chrome mirrorand new tires and cragar S/S rims.

Suspension: new shocks, ew brakes, ew brake lines, ew ball joints, ew control arm, ew tie rods, ew sway bar front and back.

Engine: the motor was rebuilt when I got the car not sure what all was done to it but I would say built to stock. I installed a new four barrel carb. Had the alternator rebuilt. I removed the electric fan and installed new water pump and mechanical fan. The car had Hooker headers on it with new exhaust. I installed the correct exhaust tips new, ew correct washer jug, quirter's &linesand a new battery. I also had the transmission rebuilt.
