Dodge Charger 1969 Description
UP FOR BID IS A 1969 DODGE CHARGER R/T.IT HAS A 440 V8 AND 727 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION.8 3/4 POSSITIVE TRACTION DIFFERENTIAL.I am not the actual owner of the car it belongs to a good friend of mine and he has asked to list the car for him, e loves the car, but other priorities have came up on short notice..I am an ASE Certified mechanic and I have performed a lot the maintenance and repairs on the car. I will do my best to describe the car in detail and tell what all I know about it.it has a 1977 build date cast crank 440 so it is not numbers matching. the transmission is a 727 torqflite it is not the numbers matching transmission either. this doesn't matter to most people but it may to some. the fender tag is also missing along with the build sheet. but the vin number on the dash does indeed match the vin on the radiator support and the car is a True R/T Charger. the 440 engine in this car has had a lot of work done and is loaded with new parts,670 holley carb, opar purple shaft cam and lifters, am bearings, oil pump drive gear, lternator, tarter, oltage regulator, uel filter and lines, lugs, ires, ap, otor, alve covers, elt, hoses, he transmission has been serviced, nd adjusted, he transmission also has a new correct torque converter.it has a new fuel sending unit, the brake shoes are new as is the wheel cylinders. the 440 fires right up is very responsive it runs very well and the transmission shifts nice and firm. The car does not over heat and starts right up and idles nicely, as an awesome lopey idle.I feel like the car would be dependable in the condition that it is currently in, ut there is a few things that the car needs and should be done.the dash lights have a short they flicker off sometimes. the front suspension could use some new bushings and ball joints and have the front end aligned, t drives fine like it is, ut these are things that I would have done at some point because it is starting to show some wear in the front suspension.it also needs the emergency brake cables replaced, he emergency brake does not work .like many older cars it needs a little TLC...On a scale of 1 to 10 and 10 being the best, WOULD GIVE THE CAR AN OVER CONDITION RATING OF A 6. The paint and body on the car is what I want to discuss next so let get to that. the car is painted up general lee style you will get a lot and I mean ALOT of attention. I love driving it Its so much fun.LAY IN ON THE DIXIE HORN AND HIT THE GAS Its awesome. the paint has flaws nicks, hips and cracks but from 5 foot it looks great. the chrome trim has some dings and scuffs a lot like the true general lee had. the car has had replacement rear quarter panels, the rest of the cars panels appear to be original mopar sheet metal, he under side of the car is pretty clean and the frame and floors appear to be good and solid the front and rear lower valance's have been worked and you can tell they used some body filler in them..as far as the electrical goes the speedo and the fuel, emp gauge work,it has and after market oil gauge and the car holds excellent oil pressure .sometime the turn signals do not work,so I thinking it may need a new turn signal switch. the interior of the car is black, t has been recovered but who ever did the seats should have replaced the seat foam, ecause the foam is worn and the seats are not holding their shape as they should, he headliner has quite a bit of wrinkle to it as well. the door panels appear to be originals and they do show signs of age and wear, ut they still look in fair condition. the chrome on the bumpers is good but a bit dull in a few places. the tires are 15 inch and in good shape the car has a nice set of vector duke boy style wheels and they are in really nice condition. all of the glass appears to be in good shape, he drivers windows is a bit stiff to roll up but it works. All in all its a super fun car to get out and have a blast in, lso IT IS A 1969 DODGE CHARGER R/T WHICH IS PRETTY DANG SPECIAL AND RARE TO COME IN ANY CONDITION. You will get attention and respect at any car show or cruise inn or where ever you may go in this car. there is a reserve on the car. it is not my car. if you would like to speak with the owner his name is Joe. 540-230-8541.
