Dodge Charger 1968 Description

Selling my 1968 Dodge Charger real R/T 440 (XS29L8) car with excellent originalbody & no rust. Car has all original body panels except trunk floor & rear valance which were professionally replaced. Originally a triple green car (see fender tag), nterior & vinyl top have been converted to black with correct Legendary interior parts. Dash area has yet to be restored & is all original including radio & steering wheel.

Body was sanded & shot with base color only (no clear coat) over original paint as a temporary measure due to oxidation & fading. Car will ultimately need to be painted & new weatherstrip installed (window felts are new).

Car has correct D440 HP stamped block witrh 906 heads, ipo exhaust manifolds, amp; correct Carter AVS 4V carb, ut I could not find any #s stamped on the back of the block. Definitely a period correct 1968 440 motor & may even be the original! Vehicle runs & drives great & has had many thousands spent on mechanical as follows:

-440 engine freshened up with new oil pan, reeze plugs, alve stem seals, ll new gaskets, ew drive accessories, amp; new tune up parts.

-727 auto trans completely rebuilt.

-New Tube Tech TTI 2 1/2" mandrel bent exhaust system with stainless steel tips.

-New radiator, an clutch, amp; fan shroud.

-Front & rear suspension completely rebuilt with new Hotchkis lowering springs & hardware.

-Original 8-3/4 rear end completely rebuilt with new 3:23 posi unit & housing powder coated black.

-Power steering box & pump completely rebuilt.

-All new 11 inch heavy duty drum brakes & components replaced.

-Fuel system replaced with new gas tank, ending unit 3/8 full length fuel line, amp; fuel pump.

-New 15 x 7" Magnums with Redline 60 series radial tires.

This car feels solid & safe on the road at any speed, ower steering works great, rum brakes stop straight, ransmission shifts smooth,& engine has plenty of big V8 power. lights & signals need to be addressed during the dash area restoration still needed. Car is a blast to drive!

Overall this 1968 R/T is an excellent bodied car with most all the expensive work done & will make a good investment. Drive it now & paint later, ar will only go up in value. Good luck bidding!
