Dodge Charger 1972 Description
1972 Charger Rallye 340 Magnum 4 SpeedThis car is rough but saveable. Initially I considered parting it out but the 1972 Rallye is a somewhat rare and specific model additionally this is a factory 4 speed 340 magnum black on black example. It seems appropriate to give this car an opportunity to be saved. I have clear title in hand. The original 340 is gone along with the power bulge hood it has a usable 360 from what looks like 1973 in it currently with a 1970 340 intake manifold and the original 340 exhaust manifolds still in place. I was told the 360 ran okay when it was last run several years ago but had low oil pressure at warm idle.It has the original 4 speed with matching VIN. The old guy that I bought it from said it shifted smooth and was quiet. The clutch fork flywheel shifter (Hurst) linkage Z-bar clutch and driveline are in the trunk. The engine and transmission have been " Installed" for transport purposes. Also the trim for the drip rails and front and back window go with the car (not pictured)The VIN on the door matches the dash and the transmission. It does not have a fender tag and I have not found a build sheet as of yet.It has keys and they work in the locks. The interior is complete to the best of my knowledge all the glass is good. The tail lights look nice with a few stress cracks but nothing major. I wasn't able to find specific production numbers for these cars but from what i have read it seems to be quite low. This car is rusty It's not see through but it will need trunk floors lower quarters etc. The worst of it is the hinge pillars. it is however quite straight. I bought this car in a package deal along with a 383 4 Speed Fury- I just don't have the time or space for both. This would be a really cool car done and a piece of American history preserved. My name is Zach and if you have questions you can call me at 360-846-0464The parts on this car are easily worth $5000 or more. If it fails to hit the reserve in the 3k range feel free to get a hold of me after the auction for individual parts prices.
