Dodge Challenger 1972 Description
Up For Sale is my 1972 Dodge Challenger. My dad bought it in the late 1970s & I believe finally parked it around 1979. It sat for a few years until 1985 when it was put in a pole barn.
It was then given to me around 2003 when I began working on it here & there. I didn't get far with it & had too many vehicles at the time, o I gave it to another family member in 2004.
It sat in his barn until a few months ago when he asked if I'd like the car back.
The car has sat inside for about 30 years all together & needs pretty much everything.
It rolled off the line as a 318 car with A/C. The original engine/trans are long gone.
Currently has a '66 (12-21-66 casting date) 383 engine & 727 trans; both in unknown condition. 8 3/4 rear axle. Power brakes (discs up front).
The rear 1/4 panels were 'repaired' long ago but need attention...frame rails have rust issues, lso needs floor pans replaced. There is some rust on the inner fender(s). Deck lid is rusted & dented.
Also has rust in the pillars (see pictures). Rear springs also sag & will need to be replaced. Trunk is fairly solid but has rust through in the left rear corner.
Interior needs work (headliner, illar trim, arpet, tc).
Tires will stay inflated for a day or 2; all 4 leak.
I love the car & would like to fix it up for myself but I don't have the time or enough knowledge to do all of the work myself.
VIN # is: JS23G2B225363
Does have a fender tag, t is removed from the car.
