Dodge Other 1928 Description
1928 Dodge 3 window coupe chopped and channeled. The frame is a custom built 2 x 3 square tube suicide front end with a 4" drop Superbell axle with 1939 Ford truck rear drum brakes on the front. The rear end is a 10 bolt out of a Chevelle with drum brakes. The rear suspension has air bags with one switch on the dash for bags and one switch for the compressor. Has a tilt column which is very nice to have if you are taller and bigger guy, interior is white vinyl diamond tuck and gives it a cool old school look, there are some imperfections on the vinyl (a cut from an old parking brake, and scuffs)but serviceable for a hot rod. The engine is a sbc with a turbo 350 trans and runs good, no leaks in the motor but noticed some drips of trany fluid from the front seal of the trans from sitting all winter. Lake pipes have super traps on them so it is not to loud. The paint for a hot rod I would say is 7 out 10 with custom pinstriping that is really nice. It is red metallic flake with silver metallic flake flames with Royal purple striping around the flames. The top of the car is upholstered in a red metallic zodiac materialwith silver metallic zodiac flames and is removable if you want to drive like that or if you are tall...I'm a little under 6' 2" and around 250 and I can drive it with the roof on but it is not super comfortable but manageable. The windshield has a crack in it and the paint has some chips and a couple cracks in it as it does get driven....as you can imagine the car gets a lot of looks everywhere you go. The wheels are brand new with around 200 miles on them and they are Rocket Racing Srike as cast with machined lip and look killer on it, tires are good except for one rear tire that could stand to be replaced do to burnouts. The brake light switch was a pressure switch that was leaking so I removed it and was going to put a mechanical one in and found it would be difficult to do so so I have not done it and have not put a pressure switch back in so brake lights do not work because of this. Speedo is not hooked up, the transmission likes to shift into high gear fast caused by what appears to be the vacuum modulator and I have not replaced it do to time constraints. Car is titled as a 1933 Ford and is clear. Shipping is the responsibility of the winning bidder and I will assist with helping the shipping company. There is no glass in the doors as they have been smoothed and there is no rear glass, there are also a couple scrapes on each side of the body down at the bottom from it being so low...was that way when I got the car.
