Dodge Charger 1968 Description

1968 DODGE CHARGER CUSTOM

There are plenty of legends in the muscle car world, but a few names stand taller than most, with “Dodge Charger” being one of the giants. The only year for quad taillights, the ’68 has a distinctive look that’s still one of the best shapes to ever come out of the Chrysler design studios.

This 1968 Dodge Charger is a very nice driver quality build that has many updates. The updates include: Complete Silver Sport Tremec 5 speed overdrive transmission kit, Classic Auto Air complete A/C-Heater kit, Unisteer power rack and pinion power steering kit, Master Power Brakes complete front disk brake conversion kit, Ididit Tilt steering column, Aluminum 4 core radiator with electric 14" fan, New Torque Thrust Wheels and new tires, 3.91 Posi 8 3/4 Rear, Frame connectors, Ceramic coated Headers 1.8" primary-3" collector, 2.5" complete X pipe exhaust kit, CAP tubular upper control arms. It's an original 383, 727 Auto, A/C car. It has a 1971 440 engine that was re-built. All of the updates on the car and the engine were added about 2 1/2 years/500 miles ago.

The car drives excellent down the road. With the new suspension, power rack and pinion steering, power brakes, 5 sp overdrive, it is very fun to drive. The 440 has plenty of power (around 400 HP) and runs great. Engine starts good. The new Classic Auto Air A/C blows cold. The interior is in good driver quality condition.

The car is very solid. Looks like front floor boards, trunk floor, and lower quarters have been replaced. The underside has the factory undercoating and looks very solid. I cannotsee any rust or bubbles in the paint. The paint job is fair. 20 footer. The panels are nice and solid, body gaps are good, but the paint job needed more body work and block sanding. Good driver quality, but could be repainted for show quality. All of the trim is in good shape. The front grill is nice and the vacuum headlight doors work.

This is a very nice car with some nice additions, and a great running engine with plenty of power. I have included some links to YouTube videos of the car running and driving below.
