Dodge Coronet 1967 Description

Authentic 1967 Coronet R/T Convertible, THE REAL THING! With factory fender tag! Only 628 R/T convertibles left the factory in 1967, undoubtedly much fewer in existence today. Think about the last time you saw one at a car show, or more than likely have not. An R/T guaranteed a 440 Magnum engine or a 426 Hemi. 1967 is the first year Dodge made an R/T (this is where it all began). This R/T convertible was born with a 440 Magnum, automatic, bucket seats with console shift, gold metallic exterior paint with Desert Tan Metallic interior.

This car came to me the way you see it in the photos, it was part of my father’s estate which my brother and I are in the process of selling. The person my father bought the car from put in new full length floors, but did not fully finish this installation. It looks to me that this car was painted or restored likely back sometime in the 80’s, as patch panels are visible on the rear quarters from the inside of the trunk. The paint on the sides of the car is actually not too bad, however, the paint on the top of the car were the sun was able to get to has not stood up so well.

The car is for the most part complete. The R/T hood scoop, R/T interior door emblems, R/T rear quarter side emblems, 150 MPH speedometer, R/T grille cente, R/T grille emblem and R/T rear tail panel and factory fender tag are included with the car. All the seats are there but will need all new foam and coverings. The top and all its associated pieces are present and it moves up and down manually, however, the material on the top has deteriorated. The center console is there but is missing a few pieces. The trunk floor will need replacing. Also, the engine and transmission are not original to the car, it is a 440 auto, but from a newer vintage of car (like a 1974 but not exactly sure of what year). When my father purchased this car, he was told it ran and drove, however, the engine no longer turns over. It could likely unlock by pulling the plugs and spraying some penetrating fluid in the cylinders and working the flex plate.

Please keep in mind this car is basically 50 years old and is in need of a complete restoration, as such the price is reflective of this. If you are looking for a runner/driver which is highway safe this carmight not be for you as it needs work. Most importantly, this car is an authentic R/T convertible, asshownby theVIN number and fender tag.Considering the large price difference between a restored R/T convertible versus a regular convertible ($30,000 plus depending on the quality of the restoration) why would anyone restore anything but an R/T?

I am willing to help in any way I can to accommodate shipping and storage. This car can be stored free of charge for weeks if needed. Also, my brother and I have already recently sold a number of my father’s other cars to US buyers. I can offer from our experience that getting cars like this back into the USA is be extremely easy. If you bring the car back yourself US Customs does not charge any taxes or duties and no broker is required (this process could not be any easier).
