You are bidding on a 1973 Dodge Dart Swinger 2 door.
I purchased this classic mopar a year and a half ago and have not gotten around to doing anything to it yet. I can use the space so it's time to let her go. I drove the car about 25 miles to get it home and have only taken her out a few times since then to keep the cobwebs cleaned out. It starts and shifts as it should. The brakes are not power brakes. They work, but do take some getting used to. The undercarriage is clean. I have a lift so you can see exactly what you are getting.
There are less than 74000 original miles on this car. I believe this to be accurate because I attempted to purchase this car back in 2006 and the mileage was in the 68K range then.
This classic mopar is in good condition overall for the year. The body is solid. The engine runs strong and starts reliably.
Obviously the car could use some finishing. The vinyl top has been removed by the previous owner and the top is rusted where the vinyl was. I do have a kit for a rubberized black top which I will include if you decide to go that route. There are a few holes in the top near the top of the windshield.
The interior has a few fairly large rips. The dash has duct tape on it. I do have the original dark green cardboard headliner for the car.
This Dart has factory air conditioning! And, it works!! at least it did last fall. I have not tried it out this year.
The body is solid. There are a few scrapes and dents. The trunk has been replaced with a different color green so obviously, a paint job would be recommended. The trunk lock is missing so it opens with a screwdriver.
The rear mirror is not attached. I believe it is in the trunk along with all of the chrome trim for the car. The trunk appears very solid.
This car would be a great candidate for someone's first classic car. It seems easy to work on and can be driven as it is while you work on it. It presents a great opportunity to get into a very cool old classic without spending a fortune.
Of course, being a 44 year old car it is being sold AS IS with no warranty of any kind. That being said, you really can't go wrong at the price I am asking. The parts are worth much more than the price of the car.
The winning bidder can pick the car up at my home 35 miles west of Chicago, 5 minutes off of I-88, 2 miles from the Aurora IL airport. --very easy to get to.
I do have a clean title in my name so there is absolutely no issue there.
There is a buy it now option if you choose. If you prefer to take a chance on the auction, my RESERVE IS VERY REASONABLE!! --Far below the buy it now price.
I have tried to be as honest as possible.
The car is also for sale locally so I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CANCEL THE ACTION AT ANY TIME IF IT IS SOLD LOCALLY.
Any questions can be texted or phoned to my cell: 630-709-3955
Full payment is by CASH ONLY !! NO CHECKS OF ANY KIND WILL BE ACCEPTED!!
This is a very reasonable price for this car.
