Dodge Coronet 1965 Description

This car has a great racing history ( 17 national event wins plus numerous records ) but it was fairly short, t had several different owners that did not race it and was stored most of its life. The restoration took over 5 years, nd would not have been possible without the bunches of help from two good friends: Greg Lane from Denver Co. who has a web site he is the most knowledgeable person I have ever met on Maximum Performance Mopars and Walt Redmond from the Detroit area, alt worked at the Lynch Road Plant, nd I know for a fact he knows facts and details that no one else knows, e has collected parts and information for his A-990 Plymouth since the late 60s. Walt has more blueprints, ulletins, arts books, actory pictures, roduct planning, nd Chrysler confidential reports than anyone. From bumper to bumper this car is true museum quality. Besides having every part that is unique to these cars, t has every detail down to the tire valve stem caps and wheel wts. All numbers are on it that were on it when it was new including fender tag, in tag, nd numbers stamped on the radiator support and rear package shelf. No expense was spared or corners cut, any rare NOS parts were used. The drive train was professionally restored with correct date race Hemi block with a fresh .030 bore, OS original super stock pistons, tandard crank, acer Brown cam ground to SS specs. excellent aluminum K heads rebuilt by Lynn Balek, ag intake with correct dated matching carbs, OS linkage and air cleaner. Trans has correct original numbered case with park delete tail shaft housing, clutch front drum, olt in rear sprag, urbo Action reverse shift valve body, nd converter to originial specs. Original drive shaft, ompletely rebuilt 3rd member with correct ratio and posi. I think I can safely say that there is not another A-990 that comes close to this one as far as authenticity. To find, uy, nd restore an A-990 to this level can cost between 200K and 250K. Owning one of these cars has been awesome, ut I am 73 with some serious health problems, nd it must be sold. This is the first time it has been offered.
