Dodge Power Wagon 1952 Description
Selling my baby to help with the purchase of a new home. This manly truck is a head turner and trophy winner. It started life in 1952 as a military ambulance although I can't verify that it ever saw military action. A previous owner chopped the top off and then had fun from there. Driving this monster or a truck is a rebuilt Chevy 350 engine mated to the stock three speed transmission to maintain the proper extreme hearing that these trucks are known for. If you're looking for a fun convertible for the summer and something that will get you out in the deepest of snow than look no further. One of the best things about this classic truck is that parts are readily available and there are tons of enthusiast out there to steer you in the right direction with repairs and upgrades. There are server all online vendors that carry almost every single part for these truck and most are available as old new stock because the Millitary always kept a good supply of parts. Parts are also very reason my priced. I'd be happy to provide some information about parts and prices.
You won't find another one like this truck though. The previous owner installed a sweet modern aftermarket front bumper and winch to help pull others back on the trails. Since I've owned it changes have been minimal and focused on safety and reliability. I installed front locking hubs to improve both gas Mileage and performance. I also have, although not yet installed, two new mirrors.
This truck is a great joy to drive and show. It took second place at the 2015 Carlisle All-Truck Nationals last summer.
So the bad, it's a 1952 vehicle that has never gone through a restoration. The paint isn't perfect, it has some surface rust, it has a max speed of 50 mph. It's not perfect but this isn't the type of truck that is for girly men who get upset if their ride gets dirty. This truck is made for fun, driving off road, and standing out in the crowd.
