Ford Other 1951 Description
I guess you would call this a Retromod. It has been restored with all updated and modern equipment. we did not build this cruiser ourselves. There has been much spent in the build. The story we got is money was once no object for the builder, now he is where you don't need money.
We will try and describe car as best we see it. Please come look at it if possible. If not hopefully pictures can supply answers. Too many questions.
First, car has been subframed of course power steering. We have had several opinions as to what subframe it is from. We are not positive, we hope you can come inspect and form your own opinion. It sits low in front and has a special speed bump ramper welded in front center of subframe. Neat stuff, you can see the heavy disc brake set up in pictures.
I could go on and on bout this build. Next the Engine: We have been told Mustang 5.0-302 Engine. It starts, runs, and sounds great. It wants to idle a bit fast-1100 RPM. Also been told we have to go through computer to change that. It has a place under dash to plug in a scanner. Tachometer works and is located in center fo dash. probably where original clock once was. Neat set up. Also very neat is after market radio/cd player all works well. All air condition controls are tucked neatly away in glove box. Yes, Air works. There is a set of fender skirts in the trunk. We never tried to put them on, i could not stand the thought of covering up the vintage Cadillac hubcaps! Damn they are sharp. The wide stainless paint divider on both sides is from a 1955 safari pontiac wagon. Paint is still nice on car, on close inspection there are several hairline cracks. Two are on rear where there are factory seams. Radial tires are like new condition. White walls are spotless.
Split windshield is nice as is all glass. Spot lights are real deal original equipment. made by (unity) G.E. lenses. not the fake partial ones offered on some builds. Try and come look the interior over, it is flawless. All our cars leave here sold as-is, so please come check it out. you will like it Im sure. Head liner and dash are expertly done.
This car comes with a keyless entry system. Really neat. Number one button pops diver door open. Number two button pops right side door, Number 3 pops trunk open. Car does have power winders. Both switches are under center of dash. Don't know what rear end. Maybe pictures will tell somebody and they might tell us. We don't have a clue. Maybe some of you old street rodders can tell us what subframe also. HELP!!??
If you want to check on shipping call Jim Mcelley Transport. He is bonded and fully insured. 831-840-3630 or 812-539-2886. Chrome is of the highest quality. Both bumpers are beautiful. The grill looks to be early corvertte. It is show condition. If some early street rodder would rather have four spun aluminum hubcaps we will gladly pop off the cadillac caps and give up the four spun aluminum caps. they are nice condition-all four. took picture of just one by the caddy caps. Car has an updated tilt steering column. There again not sure what kind of car donated it???? Contacting the builder is not going to happen he is confined. We will try to answer any questions ask for Gary 812-584-4277 cell or 812-537-0585. Thanks Happy Bidding, oh also there is a hidden power switch under grill that kills everything, also a trunk popper button in glove box.
We were just told by local street rodder that all the underneath of this car looks to be ford mustang subframe. Mustang rearend is 8.8 mustang. This we don't know so come form you own opinion HURRY!
