1951 FORD PICKUP

I have owned the truck for 23 years, nd it has served me well. I have always wanted to make it into a cool Street Rod. To that end I have installed the items listed below. I have thought many times about doing the body, nd paint thing, ut never got around to it, nd everywhere I go people say “WOW, hat a cool truck,” and when I mention spiffing it up, hey say “OH MAN’ don’t do that, t looks great with that original patina.”

My dear Wife calculated that I would need to live to be 120 YRS old to finish all my projects, o the truck, nd some other projects, ust go. L I have accumulated LOTS of parts for this truck, hich are listed below.

The truck is located near Savannah Georgia USA, nd must be picked up at this location, nless other arrangements are made.

The truck runs, nd drives well, he brakes, ights, nd AC work very well, nd the power is WAY strong. The only exception is, he steering gearbox has some “play” (as most of these trucks do) Under the “Other Parts” listed below, nd in the photos, ou will see 2 items, ither of which, an fix this issue. First is a Toyota Pickup Power Steering Box, nd Pump. This was taken from a low mileage, id size Toyota Pickup which had been rear-ended. The second is a new, ever used, Chassis Engineering” IFS, olt on, ross Member Kit, hich accepts Pinto, r Mustang 2 suspension parts (not included). The front axle on the truck was completely rebuilt including tie rod ends, bout 20000 miles ago, nd is in fine condition.

AIR CONDITIONING: THIS IS A “VINTAGE AIR” SYSTEM INTENDED FOR A FULL SIZE CAR (THE TRUCK SPENT MOST OF IT’S LIFE IN THE HIGH DESERT IN CALIFORNIA, O I WANTED TO BE COOL! SINCE PLENTY OF HEAT COMES THROUGH THE FIREWALL, ND FLOOR, NEVER BOTHERED TO CONNECT THE HEATER HOSES TO THE SYSTEM.

OFCOURSEIINSTALLEDELECTRIC WIPERS. (What IDIOT at Ford ever thought vacuum wipers were a good idea??).

RADIO: INCLUDING SPEAKERS (NEVER INSTALLED)

ENGINE: 355 cu in CHEVY. COMPLETE PERFORMANCE RE-BUILD: .030 OVER, WITH FORGED CRANK, ND RODS, ORGED PISTONS, RP CRANK AND ROD BOLTS, VERYTHING BALANCED, ND BLUEPRINTED, D OIL PUMP, ND SCREEN, ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP, EAVY DUTY WATER PUMP, LUID DAMPER, OLLEY 4175 4 BARRELL 650 CFMVACUUMSECONDARY CARB AND INTAKE. NEW VALVES, ANGLE VALVE JOB, EVERYTHING EXCEPT THE BLOCK, RANK, ND HEADS IS NEW.

DROP DOWN BATTERY HOLDER UNDER CAB FLOOR, PC BLOCK HUGGER HEDDERS, POLISHED ALUMINUM EXPANSION TANK, VERSIZE RADIATOR.

HORSEPOWER: MORE THAN ENOUGH!

TRANS: TURBO 350 WITH HI STALL CONVERTER, ND B&M SHIFT KIT

REAR END: 8” FORD WITH 3.00:1 GEARS

WHEELS: CUSTOM MADE STEEL, OWDER COATED

TOP SPEED: NEVER BEEN BRAVE ENOUGH TO CHECK IT!

As you can see from the photos, t does have some small rust through in a few places, nd the body has some light surface rust. The floor boards are sound as are the door bottoms. There is some “Bondo” on the right rear fender, The Door Glass, nd Back Glass have cracks, nd NEED TO BE REPLACED. The left door has a crease thanks to a suicidal Texas deer, ho also left his (final) imprint in the left rear fender. See “Extra Stuff” below.

I had the Seat completely restored some years ago, nd it’s still in very good condition. The Door Latches are original, nd need replacing, nd a set of NEW “Bear Claw” Latches come with the Truck (see the “Extra Stuff”).

This is a “Bare” Cab (no glass or instruments); it’s been stripped of paint, nd primed. You also get, he original radiator in good shape, pair of stripped and primed Doors, nd another set of rusty doors, nd a left rear Fender (To replace the Deer dented one)”.
