Ford F-150 1977 Description

This truck was a magazine project build for Petersen's 4-Wheel & Off-Road. It started as a cheap. straight Ford F-150 dubbed Raymond (since everyone loves it) and has since been completely rebuilt with an all new drivetrain. interior. and suspension. The truck looks over-the-top. with huge tires. faded paint. and pipe bumpers. The intention was to make it look like an old ranch truck on steroids. but there is a lot more going on than looks. This truck has a brand new 460ci engine. dual transfer cases. locking differentials. hydraulic assist steering. disc brakes at all four corners. and other features that make it extremely capable on the trail and surprisingly docile on the pavement. The only limiting factor on the trail is the sheer size of the truck. While the paint is faded. the sheetmetal and trim are still relatively straight and as a result I have limited the truck to wider trails where sheetmetal damage is less likely. It has been on the cover of Petersen's 4-Wheel & Off-Road and on posters (will include posters and magazines with the truck). has been in the SEMA show. and was featured in the following articles: Cheap Truck Challenge 2013 Top 10 Raymond Upgrades Complete New Wiring Harness Roll Cage and New Interior The truck placed third out of 20 vehicles in the first every RallyVenture. covering over 300 miles of off-road terrain in a single day without issue and besting several six figure Jeeps. RallyVenture This truck is not perfect (issues listed below) but it is very capable and well sorted out and it was professionally built by Nate's Precision in Reno with all of the best parts available. It breaks my heart to sell the truck but I am in the business of writing stories about trucks. and at this point there is not much more to write about this truck. I need to sell it in order to pay my 2014 taxes and free up money for the next truck that I drag home to write stories about.
