Ford Mustang 1992 Description

RESERVE LOWERED!

If you've been waiting to get your hands on a clean foxbody mustang, the wait is over! Up for auction is this beautiful 1992 Mustang LX. This car was put together the right way. It started out as a southern car, 2.3L, 4 cylinder. It had a complete engine and transmission swap. In went a 347 strokershortblock built by AD performance, along with a T-5 transmission pulled from a 1993 Mustang Cobra. A Cobra body kit was installed, and the car painted in Vibrant Red, a color only offered on the 1993 Mustang Cobra. Interior is freshened up with new carpet, TMI 2003 Cobra style upholstery, grant steering wheel, tilt steering column from a 1989 Mustang, and a Florida 5.0 gauge cluster.Working power windows and locks, lights, heat and air conditioning, even the ash tray cover that is so often found broken on these cars. This car was built for show AND go; it will win it's class at most any judged car show, and I have a basement filled with trophies from it.

Engine and Performance:

347 stroker shortblock from AD performance (Scat 3.4 series 9000 crankshaft, Scat 4340 forged I-beam rods, forged FT pistons, plasma poly rings)

XE274HR camshaft

AFR185 "Renegade" heads (1388)

Edelbrock Performer RPM II Intake, powdercoated red to match car

Stock valve covers powdercoated red to match car

3" polished intake with 75mm chrome Pro-M mass air meter

75mm TB

30lb injectors

1993 Cobra crankshaft and water pump pulleys

Upgraded to 140A 3G Alternator

190LPH Walbro fuel pump

BBK shorty headers

BBK H-pipe w/high flow cats

Polished strut tower covers

MGW chrome oil cap

Hood struts (Stock hood prop rod removed)

Power steering bracket, A/C brackets, and Alternator brackets powdercoated silver

Crank, water pump, and power steering pulleys powdercoated black

2.5" Exhaust with Dynomax VT Mufflers

3:55 rear gear

Dyno tuned and chipped by Mike Post at DynotuneMP in Hampshire, IL

Yes, this car still runs with catalytic converters on, although I have removed the smog pump and most all other emissions controls except for the charcoal canister. Dyno numbers were at 320/350, which is right where it should be with the HR274 cam, converters, and clutch fan. A custom cam will get this car over 350HP if you want to go that route.

Suspension and brakes:

Ford lowering springs (Approx. 1" drop)

Four wheel disc brakes (Rear brakes swapped from a 1993 Mustang Cobra, along with master cylinder and proportional valve)

Tubular rear upper control arms

Exterior:

1993 Cobra body kit

Painted Vibrant red (Approx. 6 years ago)

2003 Cobra style 5-spoke chrome rims (Inside of rims is painted black)

Calipers painted red, rotor hats painted black (G2 paint)

Custom "Powered By 347"chrome badge on hatch

Cervini 3" Cowl hood

LED Taillights

One piece headlights (Yes, the daytime running lights are hooked up and work)

Tinted windows (30% tint)

Interior:

New carpet (front & back)

TMI 2003 style cobra seats w/ new seat foam

Florida 5.0 gauge cluster

Grant steering wheel (Yes, horn works)

Tilt steering column swap

Kenwood CD stereo w/ aftermarket speakers

Custom subwoofer box w/amp in trunk

This car is not 100% perfect, although it is the nicest foxbody I have seen in the 4 years I have owned it. A few areas that keep it from being perfect: A few scratches / rock chips that have been touched up, the front window is original and shows 24 years of wear, the black trim/moldings show a bit of fading, the front headlights get a small amount of moisture inside along the edges after a good rain, and the undercarriage is not perfect although I have cleaned and painted it.

I do not know the exact mileage on this car, since I am not the original owner and the gauge cluster was not original when I got it, but from looking at a carfax report, I would estimate the body/frame to have around 150,000+ miles, however the engine only has about 6,000. Paint was done around 6 years ago and still looks great, with the normal wear and a few touched up scratches that you would expect in that time. I will be more than happy to answer any questions or take any additional pictures you might want to see. Although picking up the car in person is the preferred way, I can make myself available to meet an auto transport company at my location or at a local drop off point if needed. As always, serious bidders only please, the car is sold as is with no warranty implied, and I reserve the right to end auction at any time. Thanks for looking.
