1924 MODEL T FORD TOURING NEW MOTOR NICE CAR Laurel & Hardy Antique Automobile

This is for a 1924 Model T Ford Touring car.

The car is an Authentic Model T Ford Touring.

There is a good set of top bows that go with the car.

It was stored away and forgotten about without an engine and trans for a little over 30 years.

Here's the things that I think are needed to complete the car.

The car will come with the metal top bow set set but no wood or fabric top.

The tires are weather checked should be replaced soon.

Needs a coil box lid (cover).

Both side light lower tanks are rusted and one lens is broke.

Seats other than the Back lower seat cushion are good, eeds a back lower seat cushion. 

Paint is old and chipping here and there but presentable.

The rear end seems fine no work has been performed to it other than filling it with lube.

This Model T is fun to drive just the way it is and will pass as a daily driver with no problem.

Body and fenders are fairly straight and presents well.

 

The car now has a brand new reconditioned and upgraded 1925 motor and transmission with less than 50 miles on them.  (This engine has much more power than a stock Motor)

(Engine and transmission are not even broke in yet).

 

 ENGINE:

All work was done by me, have had about 40 years experience working with Model T's and have rebuilt many engines, ncluding ones for the Montana 500 endurance race every summer. I have a degree in Auto Mechanics, nd I am a perfectionist when it comes to rebuilding motors.

We started with a very good 1925 engine Block cleaned and magnifluxed, he deck was shaved .010. 

Bore the block .060 over new egge dome pistons grant rings.

Balanced crank, ods and mains turned 0.10 under.

Balanced matched set of Light weight connecting rods.

New Babbitt bearing for block and rods.

New camshaft bearings.

Re ground cam with a 260 lift.

Adjustable lifters bronze valve guides and all new Chevy small block valves and keepers.

1915 low cylinder head shaved .010.

Straight 4 dip oil pan.

TRANSMISSION:

Balanced flywheel.

Balanced triple gears.

Balanced high / low reverse and brake drums.

New triple gear bushings.

Steel Clutch plates all dished properly.

New Kevlar bands.

ELECTRICAL:

Matched set of ford scrip matched magnets recharged.

New field coil.

Magnets and field coil adjustment set at .025 (starts on mag with only 1/2 crank).

All new wiring harness.

All lights work.

This is just hear-say and we have no way to prove it, nd it may or may not be true but we were told that there use to be a very old brass plack that was fasten to the dash board (Long gone now) but it read that the car was given to Oliver Hardy from Henry Ford back in the 30's just for a fun gift for promoting the durability and reliability of Henry's Model T. Also we were told at the same time a second Model T was also given to Stan Laurel.A replacement plack was made and installed on the dash in the same location.

Like I said there is no way of proving this but it's a fun and interesting story anyway.

 

 

Engine Transmission parts and labor is right at $3390.00.
