Ford 2 DOOR SEDAN 1947 Description
1947 Ford 2 door sedan. I have done 95 percent of the work on this car and know what all has been done to it, nd what has been replaced. Please ask me if you have any questions you need answered. This was a very solid car to start with. Only 3 minor rust spots that were cut out and replaced with new sheet metal. Here is a run down of the work done.
Underneath was blasted to remove all rust from the car. Treated with POR 15 to be sure of seal and top coated with rubberized undercoating to deaden the sound. Frame was too sandblasted and painted and received a TCI mustang 2 front suspension with disc brakes and power rack steering system. Rear suspension has a Chrysler 8.25" axle with 2.92 gears.
Outside of body was blasted to remove allsurfacerust. Rear fenders weremoldedinto the body to hide seam. Top of door corners weretrimmedand rounded to fit the body lines. Rest of the body work was straightened and primed with etching and filling primers. Painted in Sherwinn Williams base coat clear. Trunk has an electric type release from aCadillac.LED tail lights were frenched into the rear valance panel above the bumper.
Under the hood is a Chrysler 318 bored .030 over with a mild cam, ieand intake, delbrock 600 carb. shorty headers with 2.5 exhaust going out to Dynomax mufflers.Nice low rumble.New walker radiator with electric fan. Chrome 100 amp alternator. New gas tank and fuel lines. 904 transmission shifts the power to the rear end. New chrome power brake booster and lines as well.
Interior has a set of Dodge bucket front seats that recline that have been covered in tanvinyl, tock seat was recovered and is in the rear. New seat belts were installed as well.Tilt steering column. Pioneer AM/FM CD with 50 watts is hid in the glove box. 6" speakers in the front doors, " in the rear. Center console has a VHS player in it with rear facing screen.Newport wiper system replaced oldvacuumsystem. Electric cowl vent. all new brown tinted glass with new seals installed at the time of assembly. Haneline 3 in 1 gauges monitor the operating system. Vintage air.16"x7" American Racing wheels up front with 17"x8" in the rear. Goodyear tires all the way around.
Because of it being a sedan there is not much of a truck to haul luggage so i built a trailer out of a set of rear Ford fenders to match the car. It is 17" deep and 50" long and the width is 34" between the wheel wells but wider in front of them. Torsion axle system like what they use on the Champion trailers. Tows like a dream and is a nice addition to the car. This car was a NSRA reps pick in 2007 at the Rocky Mountain Nationals. You could not build this package the reserve price. I just have to many projects. I have more pics and videos if needed just get me your information.Buyer pays for shipping and car is sold as is. A $500.00 none returnable deposit is due right after the end of sell.
