Ford Falcon 1960 Description
Beautifully restored 1960 Falcon that's ready to go. The previous owner claims to have spent 17k on the restoration & I believe it. The car shows really nice. It's not a concourse 100 point museum piece, but it's a nicely done car that's finished, all you have to do is turn the key and cruise. Spring is just around the corner & this is the perfect car to take down to the drive in or cruise over to the local shows. The car starts reliably & the little 144 cubic inch in line 6 runs really smooth & quiet. Everything on the car is pretty much stock, except that the original Ford O-Matic 2 speed was replaced with a 3 speed. I've driven the car myself a little over 100 miles. Everything on it works like it should, the heat, defrost, fan, lights, horn, signal and even the vacuum wipers. The only thing that doesn't is the radio. The interior is beautiful & really looks like new. The trunk & engine compartment is just as clean. The Paint is a perfect color choice & looks great, without any fish-eyes, orange peel or major imperfections. The Chrome shines like new. The wheels & tires are also in near perfect condition. The car has had very little road time since it was restored & it has been garage kept ever since. Every nut & bolt looks new. Just to disclose everything I know about the car, here are a few things I've noticed. The floor pan has had some patch work. There is a small & hardly noticeable run in the paint on the front right fender. There is a small coolant leak near one freeze plug. The engine seems to run a little on the warm side, but I don't know if that's just an inaccurate gauge or if the radiator needs to be flushed. Nothing serious, but something to think about come July. There's a vibration when the car is in drive and your at a full stop. I think it might be a vacuum thing. It smooth's out as soon as you accelerate. The transmission has a small leak that's noticeable when you leave it parked in your garage for a few weeks. As I said, the car seems to be very reliable to me. I believe it would safely make a road trip. If you want to drive it home, bring proof of insurance & I can send you off with a temp tag. If your buying site unseen, feel free to send in a 3rd party inspector. If you need financing check with J. J. Best. I've worked with them before. Just have your funds lined up before bidding.
