Ford F-100 1970 Description

Up for sale is a 1970 Ford F100 Short Bed 2wd pick up. I’ll dive right into the history of the truck. It was brought up from Georgia in the early 2000’s from a neighbor of mine. The first thing he did was remove the stock FE engine and he installed a 1970 LTD 390. Yes, I personally checked to make sure it is indeed a 390 and not a 360 or 352. He drove it only on nice days and it has never been on the road in the winter. He took it off the road several years agoand it sat in his garage as he planned to restore it. Last year I purchased the truck with the intent to restore it. However, some unforeseen circumstances have forced me to sell.

The truck is in really good shape. It was originally white and repainted green/blue in the 80s. There is zero body filler in the truck. I can take a mill gauge and stick it anywhere on the body. Everything works on the truck as it should. There are no major dents or dings and the frame is very clean with no rust pits starting anywhere. The turn signal canceling cam needs rebuilt and the exhaust could use an overhaul. I have driven the truck around town here but never at highway speeds. The truck should be trailered in order to make sure everything is gone through before taking it on a road trip. It is also equipped with a C6 transmission, power brakes, and the better power steering box. As far as the body goes, it is in really good shape. The bed and tailgate are awesome with only minor surface rust in the bed. The outside bed seam is in really good shape. I have all the moldings for the truck including the one for the tailgate. I have the door panels and dash pad for it as well. The chrome is decent and will polish up. The doors are in great shape with only a little bit of rust on the corner of the driver’s door. The cab mounts, rockers, and cab corners all look good. The wing windows must have leaked which caused the floor to start rusting where it meets the kick panel. There are small holes on both sides but nothing major what so ever. As I said the cab mounts are perfect. The firewall is perfect along with the inner fenders and core support with no rust. The fenders are starting to rust behind the front wheel but nothing not fixable at all. The hood has a small rust spot on the side as well. Overall the truck is in really great shape and it has potential to be a show truck. Which is what my intentions were. It also has some added options such as a steering stabilizer and overload coils on the rear end. It also has headers and wide wheels with 295 50 15’s on all four corners. Feel free to ask questions and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks and happy bidding.

I have other photos of the truck and even a video I can send out as well.
