Ford Other 1959 Description
PLEASE NOTE: The pictures included show the ACTUAL vehicle and a few pictures of restored versions of the car. As the pictures show, he vehicle is in rough shape, he other pictures were included to demonstrate the potential that this car has.The Good:-Car is 99% complete and rolls.-Has a freely turning V8, believe it's the original motor, ot sure of the size, ossibly a 272.-Good transmission, rivetrain-Good frame and body, o cancer or rust of any real degree.-Hood flips up in reverse, really cool feature on this year of vehicles.
The Bad:-Engine has not been started for about 20 years (but still has oil & turns freely so should start with a little effort).-Driveline is removed & in the trunk (was removed so that it could be towed).-Interior is ugly but intact.-Front bumper was removed to straighten, eeds to be re-installed.-Radiator was removed and is in trunk.-Front grill is included but is pretty damaged, ot likely that it could be straightened.-Probably needs a new brake master cylinder.-Trunk lock was destroyed when somebody with no key decided they really needed to get into the trunk.
The Ugly:-No title. I have the bill of sale from the previous owner, n old man that I purchased the vehicle from long ago. He promised to send me the title when he turned it up but that never happened. At one point I talked to the Idaho DMV (the last state it was registered in) and they said that a 3-year provisional title can be issued after the DMV inspects the car. The inspecting DMV can be in any state, hey just need to send a certified letter to the last titled owner's address, t which point the state will issue the provisional 3- year title, hich becomes a normal title at the end of the 3 years.
The Bottom Line:
This car really has the potential to be a head turner, ven as a rat-rod with the existing paint it still looks way cool. As for work it needs, his era of car is extremely straighforward and everything is easily accessible. It should take even an inexperienced mechanic a couple hours at most to get it started, new battery, oints, ap, lugs, ires) then maybe a couple more hours to get it driveable (re-install driveline and radiator, ossibly replace brake master cylinder and bleed brakes). Realistically this car is worth several thousand as it sits. Realistically, have not touched this project for 20 years and my wife just had another child, o the possibility that I will find the time in the next 20 years has just slipped to near-zero. My loss is your gain, will be happy to see it get what a cool classic deserves. If you are looking for possibly the coolest set of wheels you are likely to find for less than a grand, hen look no further. If you feel you need to look at the vehicle in person before bidding, can make arrangements, ust message me.
