TITLE: Clear Missouri title in hand with a VIN that matches the fire wall plate.
HISTORY: I cannot tell you much. I bought the car from a local dealer friend. Before him the car was in Missouri and South Carolina. Car looks to me like it had a frame off restoration a few years ago, ut I have no documentation.
HOW IS THE BODY, OW ABOUT RUST? I see no rust bubbles in the paint, he under side looks super clean and super solid. Floors look like they are almost new, hey are clean and painted. Frame look very solid and painted.
HOW IS THE PAINT? I consider it very nice, ts a dark green original color. Whe the car was resored the builder added some small metal flakes to the green, t make the car shine good. I see no dents, o dings and no rust bubbles. It may have a spec or tiny defect if you look hard, ut they are very minor.
HOW IS THE CHROME? Lot of chrome on this car and its all nice.
HOW IS THE GLASS? All the glass is nice and window roll up and down good.
HOW IS THE CONVERTIBLE TOP? Look very good, o hole, o rips and the back plastic window is clear. The top is power operated. The top fit is not perfect, he secound bow back is up a little, ts due to a new tight top or adjustment needed.
HOW IS THE INTERIOR? It looks good, he only real defect I see is some cracks in the arm rest pad cover and a loose bead on the edge of the lower back seat. Carpet, oor panels and painted trim good.
HOW IS THE ENGINE? The flathead V8 runs very good, hear no knocks or unwanted rattles. It starts good with a manual choke. Past owner said it was a Mercury engine and it says Mercury some where on it. I the Mercury engine was very desirable. They are a perfect fit in the Fords, hey were 255 cubic inch and the Ford was 239.
HOW IS THE TRANSMISSION? I consider it a little rare, ts a automatic, ost were 3 on the tree manual. It shifts good and I see no bad leaks.
HOW DOES THE CAR DRIVE? I consider it to drive real good.
HOW DOES THE CAR STOP? 4 wheel drum brakes that stop like drums, hey stop good, ut not as good as disc. No disc offered on a Ford in 1951.
HOW ARE THE TIRES? Good wide white walls, hey are bias belted. Radials would ride better, ut would not have the look.
HOW IS THE EXHAUST? Looks like a quite factory replacement in good condition.
HEAD LIGHTS WORK! BRAKE LIGHTS WORK!
TAIL LIGHTS WORK!
BEST THINGS ABOUT THE CAR: I consider it to have a super good body. It runs sweet, tdrives and stops good, he paint and top are nice, he glass and chrome is nice. It looks great!
WORST THINGS ABOUT THE CAR? Hood and trunk fit is OK, ut not perfect. They close good, ut gaps are not like todays cars. Heater is by pasted and some parts missing. Parts are availble if you want a heater.
WHERE IS THE CAR LOCATED? Here in Athens, ennessee 37303.
