Ford Other 1959 Description
Up for bids today is an absolutely stunning 1959 Ford Ranch Wagon. This is a one-owner car, which has always lived in Nevada. It has just under 77,000 original miles, has always been garaged, and has zero rust.
The car was stored for 30 years in a garage, long forgotten, before I found it. I had it towed home, changed all the fluids, rebuilt the carb, bypassed the fuel tank, put in a new battery, turned the key, and it fired right up!
I removed the valve covers, and there was quite a bit of sludge built up over the years, so I decided to have the engine professionally rebuilt. While that was being done, I thought what the heck, and had the entire car restored. The car was stripped of all its chrome and trim, back glass and quarter windows and windshield, all 5 doors and hatch, and professionally repainted to the current color combination. (It was originally sickening green and white). All the upholstery was completely refinished – seats, headliner, door panels, back panels and carpet.
I had a brand new fuel tank installed, all new weather-stripping and windlace, radiator rebuilt, all new brakes, lines and master, the power-steering pump was rebuilt, the mechanical fuel pump was replaced with an electric pump, and I converted the stock distributor to Electronic Ignition. I also replaced the generator with a GM 1-wire alternator, added a brand new set of mags and radials, had the brake hubs painted/cleared to match the car, and replaced the hatch glass which was cracked. Both bumpers were re-chromed, as well as the back-up light housings, but all the stainless and aluminum, along with the rest of the chrome, was already in mint condition and just needed polishing.
Much to my wife’s chagrin, I have receipts totaling over $30,000. But, she’s absolutely beautiful! (and, so is the car!).
The 59 Ford Ranch Wagon was quite arguably the prettiest of all the 50s wagons, and, being the only year of that body style, it’s absolutely one of the rarest! It‘s equipped with the original 352 Thunderbird engine, automatic transmission and power steering. The car runs excellent, and is a joy to drive. Glass is clear, gauges are clean and easily readable. The clock works twice a day. The radio is not hooked up. Any questions, please feel free to call Dave at 702-292-1201. DO NOT CALL if you’re a business wanting to help me sell my car!!! I don’t need help (although there are those out there that would disagree...).
