Ford F-350 1977 Description
1977 Ford F-350 XLT Camper Special. 460 c.i. Automatic A/C. Runs and drives exceptionally well A/C blows cold (converted to r134). Odometer shows less than 22k miles believed original. This truck is in very good original condition. Either it is original mileage or it was exceptionally well cared for and gently used which would be unusual for an F-350. The truck shows very little wear no cracks in the dash and the fabric on the seat looks new. Rubber and glass is very good all the way around. No leaks. It has fairly new correct 16.5” tires professionally rebuilt carburetor and a new fuel pump. The hood has some rock chips along the front but No rust No pitting anywhere.
The only items that are not original are: The exhaust system has been replaced and it has tough sounding mufflers instead of OEM now. The radio was replaced some time ago with a tape deck. An original Ford am/fm radio was found behind the seat unknown if it works wires were cut short. We installed an auxiliary electric fan when we changed over the A/C to make it more efficient. The tailgate is not original to the truck and not in as nice of condition but it has all the right XLT trim. And the side and rear windows have been tinted. Other than that the truck looks 100% original. I even have the original 12” wide rear wheels with original Firestones still on them. I don’t know where you can get wide tires like that anymore so we put regular Ford 16.5 rims on the back. Everything operates as it should expect except the cruise control horn and rear gas tank (it leaks). I couldn’t find anyone in this town to repair the tank so it is currently out of the truck.
The history as I know it: This truck belonged to a man in Albuquerque NM who bought it new. He used it only for hauling his goose-neck horse trailer and going camping with a slide-in camper. Loading the camper or hitching the horse trailer and throwing bales of hay in the bed caused the minor damage to the bed. The truck was always stored in a warehouse. When the man passed away his grandson sold the truck as soon as he could find the keys to a fellow here in Las Cruces NM along with the slide in camper. The camper was mounted in the truck at the time of sale and that’s why the tailgate ended up missing. The second owner put in the tinted windows and exhaust and pretty quickly realized that an F-350 with a 460 doesn’t make a very practical daily driver. He traded it in to a dealer friend of mine and I bought it. I originally bought it as a work truck for my landscaping company but I immediately realized this truck is far too nice for that. It should be hauling someone’s vintage car to show or vintage camper to the rally or perhaps pulling show horses again. I have owned the truck a few years now and it has always been stored in an air-conditioned shop driven regularly and never used for any real work. I did use it to pull my camper a few times.
The reserve is very reasonable so bid to win. Non-refundable deposit of $500 is due via PayPal within 48 hours of auction end and the balance is due via cash or bank transfer within 5 business days of auction end. I can store the truck up to 30 days and longer for a nominal fee.
